With the addition of TD2 into the Steam store, etc. I have noticed a lot of new players and I mean level 20 on their SHD watch, etc. Welcome to the game for starters and if I may toss out some helpful suggestions, this could not only make your farming The Countdown more pleasurable but the other players who have been playing for years now. So to prevent elitism, let's keep this post HELPFUL and if I miss anything, feel free to add, so long as it is is constructive and not destructive.
My first suggestion would be try and see if you can find a Hard Level Countdown. Learn the basics first. If this is difficult due to the majority playing Challenging and then Heroic, I suggest watching videos on YouTube or Twitch?
You start in groups of 4, unless there is your typical disconnect due to the poor servers or whatever is happening with this game. There are 4 Hunters to kill and 3 terminals that are attached to shipping containers. Once you have cleared the hunter in each area where these are located, activate the groups Buff at the terminal.
DPS builds like Striker is primarily king. The one thing you do NOT want to use during the Hunter phases, which is beginning and then the end, are skills like the Assault Drone, Stinger Hive, etc. Any skill that you throw out can be hacked by the Hunters and it will wreck an entire team. Foam, Fire, Corrosive launcher is good. EMP Jammer works really well for the dogs, etc at the end.
If you are the countdown leader, please make sure to know where you start the Countdown at once your group is full. You can access it through the Social section.
Only other thing I can think of that is really IMPORTANT is NOT USE Drones, Turrets, Stinger Hives. If you have the ability to switch after the initial Hunter encounter and then right before you go to extract, then be a team player. I mentioned the skill thing twice because this has wiped numerous runs I've been on.
You gain the most Countdown Credits by successfully extracting. So try and avoid being that player so many of us see who dip out after the final encounter because they were just farming for gear, etc. Yes, this is a thing and the other players will be thankful if you help out to the end. No one will blame you for trying and dying. This is why I wish the developers would add a Drop Chance of Exotic Components or even guaranteed exotic components if you exfil.
I hope this helps and if you have any questions or positive input, feel free to add.
Welcome and good luck to you.
