Since advanced controller settings are finally being added in year 7, I thought I'd talk about siege's controls and make a Wishlist of options that allow controller players to have the total freedom to fine tune their sensitivity. Please upvote so more people see this and hopefully reach the devs.
In a disappointing development, this was what they promised us in the year 7 road map.
(not in the current build)

These setting in the pic above only allows you to change the additional sensitivity boost you get when you push the stick near the maximum but wont let you directly change the response curve and the progression of speed at small to mid stick movements. Pic below is what changes the sliders above do to the response curve. (With matching color labels)

You can see that with the slider from roadmap reveal only lets you change the speed multiplier at the end where you see a big spike in rotation speed and not the actual response curve that makes up most of your stick input.
Response Curve
Before I continue, What is a response curve or aim curve? It dictates the rotation speed in relation to the stick input. If you tilt the joystick at 50% how much rotation speed should you get? 50% of your max speed? Well it depends on the curve, if you play with linear curve, then you would get 50% speed of your max as linear curve offer proportional progression of speed to stick input. But in siege with classic setting, you would get 25% of your max speed when you tilt the stick halfway.
Here are 4 different response curves and you can see how different curves responds with different rotation speed at the same stick input. keep in mind that the curves only changes the speed within the 0 to 1 stick tilt. When joystick input are at max, they all reach the same maximum rotation speed.
Lets say you push the stick value to 0.8 or 80% tilt. See how the linear curve (red) gets 80% of your max rotation speed as it is proportional. In siege, we only have 2 presets: Updated and Classic. Orange represents Updated, green represents classic. With updated you get 64% rotation speed and with classic 46% when you stilt the stick to 0.8.

Here is a updated vs classic side by side

Instead of having presets, we should be able to change the curvature with a slider.
Aim Acceleration
You might wonder why classic feels snappy-er and faster when the classic curve is almost always under updated. This is due to aim acceleration. The classic and updated presets not only change the aim curve but changes the aim acceleration as well. Both has some degree of aim acceleration but its stronger on updated.
What is aim acceleration? Aim acceleration adds a delay to the rotation where rotation is initially slow then progressively speeds up until your aim reaches speed that you were supposed to get at certain stick input. So with aim acceleration, when you slam the stick all the way, the rotation starts slower than the expected speed at first then gradually speeds up to the expected speed. When you have it off, your aim reaches full speed instantaneously.

The gif of Ela: (https://preview.redd.it/a3prf4qlrp891.gif?format=mp4&s=dd6e2c26f20c164bad5c4dc87f1ae0bb75b43f4b) sitting on char shows how rotation would look with on vs off. Of Couse the GIF exegeted so that you can see the difference. In game, this initial slowdown takes place in less than a second. Both classic and updated have aim acceleration, the aim accelerates within few hundred milliseconds but this is big enough to impact your aim.
Acceleration is baked in both classic and updated presets and cannot be turned off. What’s even more [censored] up is that the acceleration is much stronger in updated option, this is why you may feel like the updated curve is much slower and sluggish compared to the classic even if they both share the same speed at 100%. Try slamming the stick al the way and updated will still be slower when flicking because the flick duration isn’t long enough for the rotation to fully accelerate to the maximum speed.
Both updated & classic rotate at the same exact speed at 100% when you hold and let it accelerate. Here I applied a full horizontal stick input for 500ms and see how far they both rotate. We can see that the updated preset rotated less due to its stronger acceleration and the slower rotation at the start. Updated curve may accelerated to its 100% speed within that 500ms but because of the lower average speed it traveled less than classic.

Deadzone
Deadzone is a area where your stick input are not registered, you would have to push the stick past the deadzone for the game character to start moving or rotating. Ideally you would want to have the lowest deadzone so you can have better precision/movement but this can comes with issues as deadzone registers even the smallest stick input from potentiometer not being able to re-center causing stick drift.
Siege's minimum deadzone is at 10%. Yes, you read it right, NOT 5, its 10%. The settings does not tell you the accurate % for their deadzone. When you set the deadzone to the minimum "5" you get a 10% deadzone. At max of "50" you get ~76%. The ring in the outer end of the circle is called the outer deadzone where it registers as 100%. and this is where the rotation multiplier for classic preset kick in.

List of Requests
Aim CurveInstead of just being able to modify the speed multiplier at the max stick tilt, we should be able to change the curvature of the curves with sliders instead if presets. Slider removes the need for a preset curves when players can customize it to their liking. For example: setting the exponent to 1 will replicate a linear curve. For players that want more slower movement at the start, they could set the exponent to higher and push the speed progerssion towards the end of stick tilt.
Slider should shift at increments of 0.1 to allow fine adjustability.

There could be presets for the curve types ie, exponential, S-curve but a slider for each is a MUST.
What it would look like if these changes were implemented

Aim AccelerationNeed a separate slider for aim acceleration not just applied to the speed multiplier boost at the end but to the entire curve and the ability to turn it completely off. Slider range should be 0 - 1000 milliseconds with linear acceleration.
DeadzoneSlider for the inner and outer deadzone range from 80% to 100%, the minimum inner deadzone should go down to 0%. Yes, of course you will experience drift at such low % but you can simply increase till you don't. Current 10% is too large for competitive game, there is no reason to have limit on how small the deadzone is, let the players choose their own limit.

Other nit picks
Hipfire to ADS transition smoothing. this was implemented after modern warfare 19 was launched. Before, the transition from hipfire to ads speed was instant as you aimed but they added a speed transition just like cod where the rotation speed will gradually slow down from hipfire sensitivity to ADS. Needs toggle off option, gimmicky at best.Custom button binding. I know you can change the controls in the console setting but it would be nice to have an in game setting for it.
To Summarize we need:
Aim curve slider for each different curve types: exponential, S-curve (linear can be replicated with sliders)Aim Acceleration sliderDeadzone slider down to 0%, outer deadzone slider 80-100% rangeTurn off Hipfire to ADS transition smoothingIn game key binds
