1. Various objectives
Running around collecting 1 type of supply is boring, we need more objectives. Collecting different kind of supplies that acts like separate currency to upgrade players.
Spare parts
For upgrading/crafting vehicles and weapons
Maybe add silencer for weapons or crafting unique melee, various drones, utilities like flashlight etc.
Drugs
To craft aid kit, temporary stat booster like zombie repellent, or sprint booster, etc.
Electronics
To craft upgrades for hacking and HUD, upgrades that can reveal hidden supplies on minimap, upgrades on optics that allow players to see better in the dark/heavy fog, etc.
Chemicals
To craft various explosives, flashbang, napalm, frags, IED, proximity IED, paint bomb, gas bomb, etc. Maybe ammo for flamethrower or fuel for vehicles.
Overall this would be like WD1 where aiden can collect these things for crafting purposes. But this time they are currencies.
2. Add a mechanics where players have limited inventory and can share among players.
Also more stuff carried in inventory = more weight and can slow down mobility. Say P1 have empty inventory while P2 have half full inventory bcos he carries more weaponry, so P1 can run faster and collect more stuff while P2 can protect P1 with weapons. This will create different roles and different experience for each players.
3. Full customization character
All the wardrobes we can get, this means MASKS too. And to get these new clothes we have to trade it with supplies. Certain clothes should have function as well, jackets to fend off cold, or heat, mask to survive gas/smoke, backpack to carry more stuff/weapons.
4. Various zombies
Zombies that can vomit poisonous Gas/smoke (aoe)
Zombies that can explode (we have it currently but its better if its a kamikaze one - running towards enemy and explode)
Zombies (Kamikaze) that can emit EMP when killed (temporarily disable hacks and vehicles)
Zombies that can use Zom-bee swarms
Zombies from living statue person that is undetected.
Zombies need to be able attack vehicles or pulling players from inside if the door is broken.
5. More enemies and "weather" modifiers.
Im thinking about adopting androids from WD1 digital trips in "Alone" and "conspiracy!" as new enemies in it. Maybe treat them as mini bosses, androids from "Alone" will have their "weather modifier" in their territory to be darker and hard to see, and its weakness is lights (flashlight, flashbang). While androids from "conspiracy!" have their "weather" to be filled with signal jammer and players cant use minimap and longer hacking cooldown until the androids killed. Also the android can explode and can only be killed when shooting weakpoints.
- Snowy weather that can cause cold effect (slow down mobility, decrease fuel efficiency on vehicles and drones, decrease damage from flamethrower or bombs).
- "City under fire" weather that change city appearance like from "dogs of war" mission in tac ops leader of the pack + more intense fire and smoke everywhere. This increase fuel efficiency and all damage from flame based attack and bombs, but constantly drain health on player and overheat/damage vehicles and drones faster.
The way i see the weather in Lotd as of now has no effect on gameplay except for heavy fog, so its useless.
6. Vehicles
Fully customizable, but needs to be crafted 1st with supplies, vehicles have 3 health bars (fuel, engine, body) fuel depleted = vehicle stop, engine broken = vehicle caught on fire (possibly explode), body total wrecked = zombies can attack/pull players out of vehicle. Vehicle types would be
1. Four wheels (cars/truck)
2. Two wheels (motorcycle)
3. Construction drone (limited weight capacity and fuel)
4. Tactical (Spidertank - WD1)
7. Factions
- Government (Albion)
- Kelley
- Dedsec
Change the extraction into safe houses, each safe houses owned by different factions, they have quest giver, (quest from kelley would be something like: sabotage/kill/steal from Albion/break a kelley leader from prison, while Albion would be something like reestablish Albion facility/kill kelley/protect officials, etc) finishing a quest from a faction increase the standing to that faction. Each faction have different items/upgrades/rewards/cosmetics to get from their safe houses.
Lastly, i dunno if this game mode still alive or not. But i guess i'll just leave these here.
