    Hey everyone,

    This is to let you know that we deployed two hotfixes earlier today. Please follow the respective steps for the fixes to become active.

    Hotfix 1: Unable to interact with Tove after completing the "Carrying the Torch" quest.

    • If you are affected by this issue, please follow the steps below:
      • Create a manual save
      • Close the game application and relaunch it
      • Load the save you created before
      • Eivor should now be able to interact with Tove.

    Hotfix 2: Unable to move the shelves in the "The Demon Odor at the Tithe" quest

    • If you are affected by this issue, please follow the steps below:
      • Create a manual save
      • Close the game application and relaunch it
      • Load the save you created before
      • Eivor should now be able to move the shelves in the "The Demon Odor at the Tithe" quest


    Note: If a load action is performed before interacting with Tove or the shelves, you'll have to close and relaunch game application before being able to interact with either.

    We want to take a moment to provide you with some information about a recent community discussion revolving around the replacement of Diamond Rune Slots.  

    We understand that some of you were surprised that this was changed with Title Update 1.1.1. This wasn’t our intention and rest assured, we’re constantly fine-tuning our patch note creation process to provide the most relevant list of game improvements or changes to you. 

    Here’s why we replaced diamond rune slots: Our development team has recently discovered that a few gear set items (Helmets, Bracers, Boots, Cloak) had diamond rune slots by mistake and started replacing these with regular rune slots with Title Update 1.1.1. (Einherjar Set).  

    We will do another sweep with an upcoming Title Update and are currently looking at replacing diamond rune slots from the following gear sets items (Helmets, Bracers, Boots, Cloak):  

    • Niflheim gear set  
    • Gothic gear set 
    • Hel’s Damnation gear set 


    Know that any runes that were slotted into diamond slots of affected gear set pieces will be returned to your inventory when our upcoming Title Update is released in the near future.  

    We hope this provides you with some more information and clarity on this topic and want to thank everyone for your vigilance on reporting issues to us.

    Ubisoft Connect Achievements are here!


    Added in-game support for Ubisoft Connect achievements to the game.

    • Unlock conditions for Quest-related or not-repeatable achievements:
      • Achievements where unlock conditions have been met will pop when the player completes a new quest.
    • Unlock conditions for Countable/repeatable achievements:
      • Achievements will pop whenever the player performs an achievement-related action past the unlock condition.


    Miscellaneous

    • The Animus Pulse will now highlight dead bodies for necessary situations only.
    • Enemies can no longer be auto looted using the Throw Weapons perk.
    • Tweaked AI detection when using disguise while dodging or while being in-air.
    • Added a reward to the Death Stranding homage.
    • Quivers and rations will now refill when upgrading them while they are depleted.
    • White dots hinting at rations/adrenaline/arrow loot beyond interaction range will no longer be displayed when the player has max quantity already.
    • Players will now be able to use "Wake up" at any time while in Asgard. Previously you had to complete the first quest.
    • Daily quests will now reset whenever the game detects that it's not possible to continue or restart the quest. The quest may then be reactivated at the informer.
    • Added Text-to-speech to letters found in-game.
    • Added previews to color-blind and subtitle options.


    Balancing

    • Tweaked damage dealt and received values for the Lost Wolf boss encounter to reduce friction when playing on Drengr difficulty.
    • Rebalanced initial damage dealt with Harpoon Impalement Lvl 1 / 2.

    • Addressed an issue where some Raven skins could be low res.
    • (PS4) Optimized some textures on PS4.
    • Addressed a texture issue near the Cicestre Abbey that caused players to desync when walking over the texture.

    • Addressed an issue in Fishing Lesson that under certain circumstances prevented players from completing the world event.
    • Addressed an issue where players are stuck after pledging to Lincolnscire after returning from Vinland.
    • Addressed an issue where players could get stuck in a boss fight during A Cruel Destiny. *Ah yes, A Cruel Destiny, indeed.*
    • Addressed an issue where some treasures wouldn't be at their location or couldn't be looted. (Grandbridgescire, Hamptunscire, Oxenefordscire, Eurvicscire)
    • Addressed an issue where players could receive an Online Service Error when trying to save.
    • Addressed an issue where players got blackscreen after building the blacksmith.
    • Addressed an issue where players didn't receive Storming the Walls after completing Severing the Lines.
    • Addressed an issue in To Serve the Light where Hytham would get stuck on the boat when randomly shooting arrows into the water.
    • Addressed an issue that prevented players from interacting with Settlement NPCs.

    • Sprint will now be interrupted by actions other than dodging.
    • Addressed an issue where Eivor would become invisible to AI detection when fast travelling during a dice game.
    • Addressed an issue where NPCs may randomly start pirouetting on a Saxon boat. *Whatever floats your boat I guess.*

    Abilities, Perks, Skills

    • Addressed an issue where players couldn't perform heavy attacks with Frostruin or Sinner Skull.
    • Addressed an issue where Frostruin's perk wouldn't activate even when conditions are met.
    • Addressed instances where players were able to open barred doors with the Dive of the Valkyries ability.
    • Addressed an issue where the Level 2 Incendiary Power Trap couldn't be detonated a second time when the first trap was set off by an NPC.
    • Addressed an issue where Man's Best Friend wouldn't deal any damage to Zealots in some instances. *Good boi.*
    • Largely increased Mastery Points cap.

    User Interface / HUD

    • Addressed various UI/HUD issues.
    • Addressed various localization issues.
    • Items that are part of a bundle in the Animus Store will now show the corresponding items in the Details Page.
    • Addressed an issue where players could sometimes lose weapons when performing a dual weapon swap.
    • Tweaked Reda's Informer icon to make it appear smaller.
    • Changed Adrenaline Fiend icon to make it more distinguishable from Adrenaline upgrades.
    • Torches/oil jars can now be dropped/put on the ground with Y/Triangle.
    • Addressed an issue that allowed players to get the beggar reward several times.
    • Addressed an issue where stats wouldn't update after leaving offline mode.
    • Addressed an issue where players couldn't interact with Reda anymore.
    • Added "OFF" to Quick-Time-Event Input type in the menu. (Turning this option off will allow the game to bypass mashing actions during some boss encounters)
    • Addressed an issue with Alpha Animals where players wouldn't be awarded the skill point when animals were not killed by the player.
    • Addressed an issue where Opals would not disappear from the map under certain conditions after collection.
    • Addressed an issue where Experienced Travelers would unlock locations for the wrong territory.
    • Addressed an issue where players wouldn't be able to create or load a manual save anymore.
    • Addressed an issue where Layla's laptop couldn't be navigated with Focused navigation.
    • Named Cloud saves appropriately.
      • Cloud saves will now be named Autosave/Manual/Episode Save CLOUD
    • Addressed an issue where Saves could be displayed as corrupt when saving when the internet connection is lost.
    • Addressed an issue on where the pathfinder setting resets to Custom after rebooting the game.
    • Addressed an issue on where cloud saves could disappear under certain conditions.

    Photo Mode

    • Addressed an issue where filters reset to no filter when adjusting other values in Photo Mode.
    • Addressed an issue where the Photo Mode camera could get stuck in objects.
    • Photo Mode Frames will now function correctly.

    System

    • (PC) Addressed an issue with the benchmark tool that caused the tool not to collect data for a moment after unpausing the session.
    • (PC) Addressed an issue where VRAM indicators did not correspond with actual VRAM consumption.
    • Reduced intensity and duration of the parry rumble. *Controllers go brrrr.*
    • (PS5) Addressed an issue on PlayStation 5 where the Season Pass wouldn’t be displayed as OWNED after purchase.

    CHEATING & UNFAIR ADVANTAGES
    Have fun and play fair. Let your skills alone take you to the top. All players are created equal. Anything aimed at gaining an unfair advantage disrupts the balance of our games and is damaging to our communities.

    Do:
    - Play fair and encourage others to do so.
    - Call out cheating and help us foster fair play by using our reporting features

    Don’t:
    - Cheat! Buying, making, distributing or promoting cheats for our games ruins the experience for all, even you.
    -Abuse exploits or glitches to gain an unfair advantage.


    INVESTIGATION & SANCTIONS: Your actions have consequences
    When you’re using Ubisoft’s games and services, be respectful towards all players, users and our representatives. The purpose of our Code of Conduct and Terms of Use is to provide safe and welcoming communities for all, and any suspected breaches of these guidelines and rules will result in an investigation that could lead to sanctions. Sanctions can include; but are not limited to: restricted access to certain services, suspensions and bans at game or at account level. Sanctions may vary depending on the severity, impact and/or frequency of breaches. We don’t enjoy taking this kind of action, but breaking the rules can negatively impact the community, and therefore we need to hold you accountable.

    Assassin's Creed Valhalla - Title Update 1.0.4

    Hey everyone,

    We will be deploying Title Update 1.0.4 on the Xbox family of consoles, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store, Stadia, and Amazon Luna tomorrow: November 26, 2020.

    CONTENT

    Quality/Performance Mode Introduction

    Added an option to the game that allows players to choose between Performance or Visual Quality.

    Feature breakdown:

    • This option is available for Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5.
    • Choosing Performance allows the game to adapt the resolution and graphic settings to maintain 60 FPS.
    • Choosing Quality enables the game to run maximum resolution and graphic settings while maintaining 30 FPS.
    • Default values since the launch of the game are as follows:
    • Xbox Series X / PlayStation 5: Performance
    • Xbox Series S: Quality


    Miscellaneous

    • Added a new background image to the title screen.
    • Added various VFX to enhance visuals.
    • Added an option to automatically assign unspent skill points. (*)
      • This option is available from the center of the skill tree / Fate.
    • Added "Weapon Runes" and "Armor Runes" as titles to their respective sections. (*)
    • Added a warning when switching from a language that supports TTS to one that doesn't.
    • Sliders can now be moved with left/right arrows on M&K and controllers.
    • Increased fabric limit to 82.
    • Added fabric to traders once the settlement has reached Level 6.
    • Added offering altar requirements to the world map.


    Balancing

    • Updated gear quality and gear to their correct values.
    • Added Assassination damage stats on the character stats page.
    • Removed duplicate gear from inventory.
    • Heavy and light attack stats will now adjust correctly based on acquired skill nodes.
    • Heavy attack modifiers will no longer be applied to range attacks.

    Performance and Stability

    • Improved stability and performance.
    • (Xbox Series) Improved experience on Xbox Series S | X consoles including screen tearing
    • (PC) Addressed a VRAM/RAM leakage issue when alt tabbing to desktop.


    Save Games

    • Corrected some instances where Load Game would not display save games correctly.
    • Renamed Cloud saves to make them more distinguishable from regular saves.
      • Previously the cloud save was only highlighted with a Cloud icon. Now they’ll be called, for example, “Manual Save Cloud”
    • Removed Cloud saves from the Save menu. This will ensure that it cannot be overwritten unintentionally.
    • Added a notification when a cloud save retrieval has failed.


    Graphics, Audio, Animation

    • Addressed various graphical issues across the board.
    • Addressed various FX issues.
    • Addressed various instances of clipping issues.
    • Addressed various visual issues with Eivor's cloak.
    • Addressed various instances of player or NPC animation issues.
    • Addressed various audio issues.
    • Addressed various lighting issues.
    • Shadow resolution on High will now use correct values.


    World

    • Addressed various texture or object placement issues.
    • Addressed some instances where the player could become stuck in specific locations.
    • Fish in Norway will now spawn in bad weather. Yeah, we had to read this one twice too.
    • Crows will no longer randomly fall from the sky in Asgard. *Bad omens, huh?*


    Gameplay, Combat, AI

    • Addressed various bow-aiming issues.
    • Improved NPC and Boss behavior across the board.
    • NPCs will now react to the player stealing...so think twice before stealing!
    • Addressed an issue where dogs would start levitating when Eivor starts to pet them.
    • Blocking Springald projectiles will now consume stamina, as intended.
    • Addressed an issue where hitting a Zealot's last weak point wasn't allowing players to stun attack. Sleep tight. (*)
    • Zealots will no longer instantly regenerate to full health when the player is considered out of conflict but still in the Zealot's vicinity. (*)
    • Guards who clearly saw Eivor shoot their ally will now turn hostile. *presses emergency button*
    • Guards will now hear the impact of dead bodies dropping to the ground.
    • Improved guard reactions to whistling.
    • Improved disguise behavior in distrust zones.
    • Shooting bows from the longship while not commanding it will now consume arrows. (*)
    • Players will now be able to air-assassinate sleeping NPCs. *Savage...*
    • Improved fish-reeling behavior.
    • Addressed an issue where the horse wouldn't use the gallop animation in combat.
    • The crowd will now cheer during drinking games. *You better.*
    • Reworked sliding mechanic.


    Quests, World Events, Side Activities

    • Addressed an issue where the assassination sequence wouldn't play for some targets.
    • Addressed various texture issues during cutscenes.
    • Addressed various issues with quests or world events that prevented players from completing them.
    • Players can no longer use the fishing tool or the horn during the drunk walk with Tewdr - *you're drunk, go home.*
    • Sub quests will now display the correct "Part of" parent quest.
    • The memory stream can now be chosen when starting a New Game if Hold Alternative option is set to ON.
    • Increased frequency of experienced travelers.


    User Interface / HUD

    • Addressed various issues with the User Interface/HUD.
    • Addressed various localization issues.
    • Addressed various Mouse- and Keyboard-related input issues
    • Secrets will now be discovered when synchronizing a Viewpoint. (This does not apply to Pathfinder difficulty)
    • Experienced travelers are now highlighted on the world map and on the compass when in proximity.
    • Addressed an issue where the map wouldn't update once players got intel from an experienced traveler.
    • Increased Odin's Sight radius and enemies will now be highlighted for longer. 👁👄👁
    • Improved radius in which Synin reveals keys.
    • Reduced Synin's view distance of materials.
    • Improved the objective beam behavior.
    • Settlement building beams can now be seen using Odin's Sight.
    • Improved enemy target-lock mechanic.
    • "Sell all trinkets" will now be greyed out after all trinkets were sold. *Cha-ching!*
    • Bosses’ power levels will now be displayed on their health gauge. This does not apply to regular enemies.
    • Regular brightness settings will no longer apply to HDR exposure settings.
    • The Codex will no longer foreshadow or spoil some events.
    • (A11y) Desktop entries and content on Layla's laptop are now narrated when Menu Narration is ON.
    • (A11y) Colorblind filters are now applied correctly to mini-quest log and raid tutorial.


    Abilities and Skills

    • Addressed an issue where players couldn't use any abilities anymore when the Dive of the Valkyries ability was interrupted.
    • Ally NPCs or horses can no longer trigger body traps. *Some people just want to see the world burn, huh?*
    • Addressed a display issue where the poisonous powder trap could become invisible after using Synin.
    • Adjusted chain-assassination behavior. Players will no longer be able to assassinate a target who was tackled to the ground.
    • The Secondary hand slot will no longer be available when a two-handed weapon is equipped (pre-heavy dual-wield skill).
    • Flaming powder traps will now explode when walking over the arrow.


    Raids

    • "Force Open" will now be displayed correctly even if nearby allies are in combat.
    • Addressed an issue where allies would not help Eivor to open a door during Raids.
    • Allies will now return to the longship once a raid is complete.
    • Added a timer until players can restart a raid that was just completed.


    Photo Mode

    • Effect values can now be adjusted with arrow keys or WASD.
    • The no-filter option will now work correctly.
    • The Territory panel is no longer displayed in Photo Mode.
    • Changing filters will now work as intended.
    • Addressed an issue where an Online Service Error could occur temporarily when looking at photos on the world map.
    • Snow FX will now center to the camera instead of the player in Photo Mode.


    System

    • (PC) Updated readme files to show correct PC specifications.
    • Added additional checkpoints to some boss fights.
    • Addressed an issue that led controllers to vibrate constantly.
    • Addressed an issue where players could become stuck in a black screen after closing the menu with start.
    • (PC) Updated the autodetect config for Nvidia Geforce 1650 S.
