Assassin's Creed The Ezio Collection - Ver. 1.3
(Problem is in AC2)
The bonus knife belt upgrade keeps disappearing. It's supposed to show up at Tailors in Seq. 4. But, while it shows up at the start of Seq. 4 - it then disappears at the end of Seq. 4.
And then the base game pouch upgrades never appear either, leaving me stuck at 10 max.
I've tried re-downloading the game, I've tried erasing save data & starting from scratch, I've tried unlinking the Connect account & making a new one - I've even tried reformatting my Switch & doing all the above together. None of it worked.
And there's no way for me to re-redeem the rewards - they are all ticked as redeemed & there's no option to refresh anything or untick & retick it.
I've spent a week trying to get this to work - & it's not a pre-existing, baked-in problem either, the 360 releases never had this problem, so it's new & related to Connect - & that wouldn't be the end of the world, except whatever is faulty with it has affected & broken parts of the base game, making it for me ultimately unplayable. 'Cos if Connect has broken AC2 then the rest of the trilogy is going to be unplayable too.
I've also tried all week to contact someone at customer support, but I keep just getting run in circles & dumped back at the 'start chat' menu that does not work. No matter what I do. The game isn't even an option to select - so I go with 'all games' on Switch & do as many of the fields as close as it'll let me get, but ultimately it's a complete waste of time 'cos the 'start chat' button does nothing. Nothing apart from turn white. I've let it sit a while 'cos god knows the website loves to refresh itself & show me the logo animation over & over, or just get stuck in a loop of having me sign in again & again no matter how many times I tick 'remember me.' But no, nothing tries to load, the button turns white until I touch any part of the screen, then it turns red again.
Day or night, my region or another, doesn't matter. Nothing works.
The closest I've managed to get was twice I got an error message saying 'chat is closed, choose another method of contacting us' which is a very funny joke since there are no other methods of contacting support, no matter what route I try to take through the menus it just keeps dumping me back at the non-existent 'start chat.'
In desperation I even sent an email to the account support address that pops up on Google, asking them to forward me to someone, anyone, who can fix it. No prizes for guessing how far that's gotten me. I'm only surprised it didn't auto bounce.
So what exactly am I supposed to do to actually contact customer support? Do I need to sacrifice a twice-laden swallow by the light of the 3rd moon in April? Do I need to summon Baphomet & trade my soul for an email address? Do I need to start breeding carrier pigeons or build myself a ham radio?
