I can’t imagine the wing-suit in FC6 is as intended. As tricky as it was in FC6, that wing-suit was far better than this iteration.
I can’t tell you how many video guides I’ve seen online that say to get the W-S ASAP, to “cover great distances.” This is ridiculously untrue. No matter how high I am when I jump, even in air drops over safe houses, I drop like a stone after activating.
Even when locations were fairly close to the drop zone, I’ve yet to get anywhere near them w/ the W-S.
It’s been so bad, that I’ve given up even trying. Which is a shame in and of itself, but dramatically worse in missions where the W-S is an integral part of the mission.
There was the treasure hunt w/ the pelican, that tells you to follow the bird using your W-S. Not only was this impossible, it was bewilderingly stupid and frustrating. I spent an hour or more retrying that mission, never getting farther than the base of the mountain.
And now, in “A Wing & A Prayer,” the game literally points to the place where it wants you to run off and activate the W-S, so you can glide down and save Marisol. What a joke!
Every time I’ve tried, I’ve covered no more than a third of the distance; whereupon I’m forced to cover the remaining distance on foot. And because Dani’s stamina sucks, it makes the whole ordeal tedious and anything but fun. The only work around I can think of is to quit and cone back w/ a helicopter (assuming there are no anti-aircraft).
All of this begs the question/s: if the W-S is this ineffectual, why make it a key component of missions.
I assume there’s not some method for using the W-S I’m unaware of, but I’ve tried everything I can think of. Alternating b/w the W-S and parachute helps a little, but nowhere near enough to cover even a reasonable distance.
