Hi everyone!
Don't know if anybody feels the same about this, but I do feel that ever since the Wu Lin update, the seasons and heroes (including the marching fire expansion) feel kind of rushed. In fact, ever since that update, the developers seem to be rushing to push out as much new content as possible. That, in on itself, is not a problem at all, I enjoy all the new stuff in game, but it also leaves some areas of the game wanting.
First of, I'd like to say that the armament and design options we get on regular basis is beautiful just as well as I understand why Unisoft would want to implement a battle pass. To be completely honest, as long as I'm not being forced into paying just to be able to play (subscribtions, pay-to-win scenarios, PvP boosts, etc.) I won't care. Yet, with how the pass is set up right now, it does more harm to the lore than good.
For example, the overall theme of the seasons changes so much that many, including Unisoft I believe, lose track of the lore. The last coherent DIRECT tie in with the single player storyline was the Chimera/Horkos situation. But since then, we've been mainly focusing on the weather. And I'm not saying that's it's a bad thing, I enjoyed the Tempest the most so far, but the novelty wears off pretty easily. That includes the new heroes.
It's been almost four years since Marching fire released, but all the Wu Lin heroes seem to lack a whole lot in comparison to the original three factions, and there's no point in talking about any newer heroes. Yes, making money is important to keep the game alive, but, since the developers are already working on more and more elaborate customisations for the battle pass, while releasing new heroes every other season while creating the new "story related" overhauls for select heroes, would it truly be so unreasonable to ask for more unique executions/emotes/win poses/armour and weapon sets for the Wu Lin and newer heroes who arguably need them? Instead, yes, we have a whole lot of new stuff, but also an ever-growing pile of unfinished storylines, plot holes and interesting narrative ideas that ultimately were underutilized or disappeared all together.
Also, the new battle pass has some of the most beautiful weapons (in my opinion) so far, but Egypt themed weapons are difficult to mix and match with most of the heroes. It would be nice to have, for example, in the bundle part of the market, an option to get a themed armour as well. I know there are the outfits in the pass as well, but some armours will clash with the weapons no matter the design on it.
And then there's the newest mythic outfit. I've got nothing in particular against it, the only I have is with the effect that goes with it. I love all the previous wings effects, hell I own them all and use them religiously, it's just that these new wings perfectly what I said previously about rushing things. The others look so detailed while the new wings that, having a stained glass aesthetic, could have been a masterpiece. Instead they just give me WOW Classic flashbacks (no offense ment by that, I'm just screwed up like that and this isn't the only game to bring up that feeling)
But that's just in-game temporary cosmetics speaking so I suppose it's not that important. I just wanted to bring it up because it still demonstrated my thoughts somewhat competently.
Anyway, that's my point of view on things as they are. Thanks for reading my rant.
