My Ubisoft account was created probably 15 years ago with an email that no longer exists. I should have swapped out the email address long ago, but here are. It was created in the days before 2FA was an option, so I had never set up those options in this account because I rarely logged in, and when I did I would just redeem my points and be done with it. However, now that the old email is no longer recoverable Ubisoft is refusing to offer any form of recovery or unlinking of my gamertag outside of recovering the email address. I have proof of ownership of my linked gamertag and Microsoft accounts, timestamps of when I complete challenges playing Ubisoft games on the account, etc.
Ubisoft should not be legally allowed to hold my gamertag on a dead account that I do not wish it to be linked to. If someone stole my Ubisoft account would they still require me to go through with trying to recover the account from an email that I do not own after the hackers switched out all of my info. This is essentially the same situation as described above. The only thing that I would still have would be the ownership of my Microsoft account and Gamertag.
I can provide any and all legal documents, addresses, photo ID's, phone number, etc all proving ownership of my Microsoft account, but Ubisoft does not care about any of that. They only care about the dead email address that is on the account. I could care less if they deleted the Ubisoft account in order for me to link my Gamertag with a new Ubisoft account, but they are currently holding my Gamertag hostage against my will. Any help on the matter is greatly appreciated.
The email and username on this post is not the combo on the account in question as I cannot login to that account. Thanks.
