    Hi,

    ive seen several people post about this and it has yet to be resolved, it’s game breaking, I can’t progress in this quest line because of this, I’ve killed the guard and it shows to loot the key but I can’t and I can’t get into the room I need to, to complete this quest without the key, no one seems to be interested in investigating or resolving this, what are we supposed to do?

    @nerdybirdy83 Hello there! I appreciate you reaching out with this. I'm also sorry to hear it's happening. Could you grab a video showing this issue occurring with the guard being unable to be looted for us to review?

    how can I show you a video of something that’s already happened? I can’t re-kill the guard so a video won’t show you anything, just that I can’t seem to loot a key, my only option is to carry the dead guard, that’s it, also others have posted videos & it wasn’t resolved, this is game breaking.

    @nerdybirdy83 this is the same thing that has happened to me. Guard lying dead he has key and can't loot him so can't carry on with game. Thought I was missing something but story has told me to go to Offchurch. He's only Guard who doesn't come back to life. Frustrating

    In the main quest when I need to capture King Burgred I need to get the key from the guard to unlock the door to get the king. It won’t register that I have the key or let me loot the guard to get the key. I can’t move on without the key. I tried reloading from earlier, turning off the system and or resetting the system/cache and fast traveling to other places and quests. I’m hoping there is a solution to this besides to reinstall the game and lose everything.

    Sorry for the delay in getting back to you both, but thank you for your patience! The Game team has been investigating this issue, but I have a few questions for you both.

    • Have you tried reverting to an earlier save and trying again?
    • If not already, please complete our guide here. Does this resolve your issue?
    • Have you tried changing your Exploration Difficulty to 'Adventurer' and then trying the Quest again?
    • Can you forward your most recent manual save to the cloud? (guest-F4D1iv0s, if not on PS5 let me know which platform you are on.)

    I’m also having the same issue with this mission but on my Xbox one. I’ve reset my system and it will bring back all the guards but the one with the key every time. It won’t let me loot the key either.

    I have power cycled, cleared my cache, updated my ps5 & Valhalla, disconnected from the internet, restored my licenses none of those have helped, my manual saves do back up to the cloud, I’ve also tried an old save & I can complete it in that save but that means losing about 100 hours of gameplay which to be honest makes me not want to play at all anymore, I kept hoping updates would fix it but so far it hasn’t & ive tried everything suggested, it’s just incredibly frustrating.

    My apologies again for the late response, but thank you both for providing this information! Thank you NerdyBirdy83 for letting me know everything that you have tried. I've sent your most recent game save to the Game team, along with the rest of this information. You mentioned being able to complete the Quest on a previous save. Can you send that previous save to the cloud as well?

    Also, Governor456, please send your most recent manual save to the cloud as well. Thanks!

    I don’t have any saved to the cloud at that point. I didn’t do a manual save before that mission and it still won’t do anything to reset it. I don’t know what else to do.

    @nerdybirdy83 I've got same issue and carried on with game to see if missed something I'm upto to 300 power collected all gold killed loads of zealots collected a ton of weapons but only 40% complete because I can't loot key? Something needs to be done as I'm not buying any other stuff until it is.

    hey, I’ve just sent the save that I can complete that quest line on to the cloud, it’s the 58 hour 4 min 33s one for you guys, hopefully this helps get it sorted out.

    I was just wondering if anything has been done about this issue. I’ve tried to do other things in the game but it still won’t reset this mission so I can no longer progress in the quest line.

We've been continuing to collect information regarding this issue of not being able to collect this key and the Game team is actively looking into this. I sincerely apologize for any trouble that this may be causing in the meantime, and if any more info is requested from the Game team I will be sure to post it here.

    Tilting the Balance, I can't collect the key from a dead guard body to open the locked door to the king. Anyone has this resolved? Reload still the same issue.
