I've been collecting some opals in Ireland and I found out that my opal count is not increasing. I had 1 opal after buying something from Reda and after collecting 10 or so wild opals in Ireland I looked in my inventory and saw that the number hasn't increased. The opals however disappear from the map.

(I have 6 now after doing a daily mission)

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@ubi-keo The development team have been unable to reproduce the issue.

They have asked if this still occurs since installing the 1.3.0 update? And can you also confirm if this only happens with the opals collected in Ireland?

@ubi-keo Ok I can give you an update on this. First of all, yes this only happens in Ireland, or at least I encountered this in Ireland and haven't seen it in England or Norway. Second of all, I believe the opals do get counted but just not right after picking them up although they do sometimes get counted right away. I think I need to restart the game for them to show up in the inventory. After doing so once I had all of a sudden more opals than I had before restarting Valhalla. And I think that the amount of the increase corresponded to the amount of collected opals that didn't show up in my inventory right away.

@philyg213 Thanks for the update. Can you let us know if your opal total updates after you immediately complete a contract from Reda, or if it does not update then either? And to confirm, does this still occur after installing the 1.3.0 update?

Can you also go through the connectivity troubleshooting then try again to see if the issue still persists.

@ubi-keo It does immediately update after doing a daily mission from Reda in Ireland and yes it still happens after the new update.

Troubleshooting did nothing. It still wouldn't count the one opal I picked up. Later I saw that my opal count increased by one but I have no idea what the reason for that was. Maybe I just reloaded an earlier save.

@ubi-thrupney A small update on this. I can see my opal count increasing right after picking up opals in Francia so whatever doesn't work in Ireland works there.

@philyg213 This has been reported to the dev team and it is under investigation.

In the meantime, our teams would like to use details from your progress on Assassin's Creed: Valhalla to continue looking into the issue. Please make sure that your latest save has been added to the Cloud (it will have a cloud icon next to it). This step will allow us to use your save files for investigations.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to resolve this issue.

    Thank you.

@ubi-viral I play on XBox One and my username is the one I'm using on this webbsite. I played the game a few hours ago and I also made some manual saves. I'm sure some of them were added to the cloud. I literally haven't made any progress today so you could just use whatever.

Thanks for confirming your Xbox gamer tag, @PhilyG213, and for letting us know you have an up-to-date save uploaded to the cloud. We've passed this information along to the development team for further investigation.

If we require any additional information, we'll reach out within this thread. In the meantime, please keep an eye out within the News & Announcements forum for any future updates.

    Thanks! 😊

@ubi-borealis I have to give you another update. It's happening in Francia too. It wasn't happening when I first started the DLC but not it's happening. I collected a few opals and they were not being counted. Only after 2 or 3 days did the real opal count show up. Doing Reda missions there immediatey updates the total amount.

    Hey there,

Thank you for your update, sorry to hear this is also happening in Francia.

I have forwarded your update to the team for investigation.

In the mean time if we can help further just let us now.

    Many thanks

@ubi-wheelyduck Just so you know. I was asking myself if my problem was happening on the main maps too but it wasn't. In England and Finland the opals are immediately counted.

    Hello @philyg213,

    Thank you for the update!

I can see that the development team requires more information on this issue - can you please confirm if you're encountering any online errors while playing/accessing Reda's shop or our Store, by any chance?

If so, can you please perform all of the troubleshooting steps listed in this article? It will help us to investigate this issue further for you. Many thanks!

@ubi-mark No such things are happening. Just that on 2 maps I have to wait until the opals that I collected get properly counted.

    Hey @philyg213,

    Thank you for your update.

I understand you are not receiving any online errors.

Would it however be possible to complete those steps we mentioned and then let us know if there is any change?

    Many thanks

    Hello there @PhilyG213!

The development team have been taking a closer look at your report, and would like an update following the release of TU 1.3.1:

    • Are you still encountering this issue of your Opals not being counted whilst in Ireland and Francia?
    • Does this happen every time you collect and Opal whilst in these regions, or does it only happen sometimes?
    • Are the Opals always added to your inventory, even after a delay? You mentioned that doing a mission from Reda will immediately update the total amount for you. Have any of the Opals gone missing and not been added to your inventory?

Can you also let us know if you've tried the connectivity troubleshooting steps provided by my colleague @Ubi-Mark?

    Thanks! 😊

@ubi-borealis I am not the original poster, but I noticed in playing tonight, that I have collected a few opals and they are not registering in my Opal count. I am also I England, in Lincolnscire. I will probably do a new topic about this.
