i recently came across a video claiming there's a difference is handling/performance between them,
(and same with the optional widebody or not on the same car)
    is this true?
    or is it just optical?
could U, dear Mod, ask this on the deffs?

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Always been a thing. A car with widebody usually handles better than the same car without it. This happens because game engine simulates weight transfer, and wider track moves center of gravity further from surface contact points (wheels) so you need stronger lateral force to roll the car.
Vanity tires also give a slight change in track width. This is not purely cosmetic, it does affect physics. Often you can notice a slight bounce and/or a faint sliding sound when changing tires. This happens when physics engine "reconnects" car to the surface after its contact points were moved.
But this is arcade game, how tires contact patch and how wide it looks doesnt matter. What matters basically is rims position. This is chain effect, some tires force rims into different position, and rims position affects handling.
Also wider isnt always better. You may notice that some tires change ride height. Usually those are the same tires that give you widest track. In this case lower is better and this is also a real thing in this game, because of the same weight transfer simulation.
Overall this is just too much to test (especially pros and cons of wider but higher tires) and changes are so small you will need a ton of runs with the same setup to get any kind of consistency in your results. So I just stick to default tires and widest body kit available.
