As we transition to a new generation of consoles, many of you may be wondering about the implications of moving to a new platform. Ubisoft Connect makes this transition easier than ever! Our main live games and upcoming releases will support cross-progression, including an upgrade at no additional cost to the next generation of devices. You just need to create or sign into a Ubisoft account when launching your game.

Here is a summary of all Ubisoft games that will support cross-progression, upgrades, backwards compatibility, as well as cross-play.

CROSS-PROGRESSION AND NEXT-GEN UPGRADE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST

Games eligible for full Cross-Progression, across all platforms
For these games, you will be able to keep your saves if you switch between families of consoles or move to PC. However, please note that the hard currency is transferable only within the same family of devices.
    - Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, PC, Stadia and Amazon Luna
    - Immortals Fenyx Rising: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Nintendo Switch™, PC, Stadia and Amazon Luna
    - Riders Republic: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, PC, Stadia and Amazon Luna
    - Hyper Scape: already deployed on Xbox One, PlayStation®4 and PC

For example, you can start Immortals Fenyx Rising on PC, then buy and continue playing on Switch without losing your progression!

Games eligible for Cross-Progression between current and next generation of consoles within the same family
For these games, you will be able to keep your saves and in-game content between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, or between PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®5:
    - Watch Dogs: Legion
    - Rainbow Six Siege (release date of next-gen version to be announced later)

Games offering next-gen upgrade at no additional cost to the next generation of consoles
For these games, you will be able to upgrade your version to the next generation at no additional cost: from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S, or from PlayStation®4 to PlayStation®5.
And you will of course keep your progression (see above on Cross-Progression).
    - Watch Dogs: Legion
    - Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
    - Immortals Fenyx Rising
    - Riders Republic
    - Rainbow Six Siege (release date of next-gen version to be announced later)

That means that you can start Watch Dogs: Legion on Xbox One, and later on upgrade to an Xbox Series X (same applies for the PlayStation family). You will get the next gen version of Watch Dogs at no extra cost and be able to continue playing without losing any progression or in-game content!

You can find details here details about how to upgrade your games to next-gen versions.
Please note that next-gen upgrades are not available for physical versions of the game if you have upgraded to a discless console such as the PlayStation®5 Digital Edition or the Xbox Series S. It is also not possible to upgrade from a digital current-gen edition to a physical next-gen edition.

    Games with backward compatibility
With backward compatibility, our back catalogue of games will be available on next-gen consoles*.
This means that you will be able to play your Xbox One games on Xbox Series X|S, or play your PlayStation®4 games on PlayStation®5.
*For further information, please visit Xbox and PlayStation’s store websites.

    CROSS-PLAY

Ubisoft multiplayer games aims to let you play with your friends, whatever the device they are playing on.

As such, For Honor, which will be available on next-generation consoles with enhanced graphics, as well as Rainbow Six Siege will be cross-generation, allowing you to connect with others playing on the same family of consoles. For example, if you currently play Rainbow Six Siege on PlayStation®4 and upgrade to a PlayStation®5 (same applies for the Xbox family), you will get the next-gen version of the game at no additional cost. You will also be able to continue playing with your friends whether they play on PlayStation®4 or PlayStation®5! You can find details here explaining how it will work.

We will have more info to share on cross-play features for each of our titles in the near future.

Designed for a new gaming era, one where we want you to be able to play, progress and stay in touch with friends anywhere, Ubisoft Connect lays the foundation that will enable Ubisoft’s games and services to live across platforms and make cross-platform features a standard moving forward.
Cross-progression is part of this commitment, with more cross-platforms benefits to come in the future. Feel free to get in touch if you have any other questions!

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
