

@ubi-peach I just purchased the Xbox One disc today and am encountering the same issue - update needed to play on Xbox One but it cannot download it now. Please update as soon as there is a fix.
@ubi-peach I get exactly the same issue on my disc version on xbox one x. No joy to update and says error message at moment tried uninstall and reinstall 6 , 7 times please help

@ubi-peach I bought this game for my husband for Christmas and we are also having this issue. After reading the replies in this post he started it offline and it’s working. Also on Xbox one and have tried all the troubleshooting tips multiple times over many days.
@azullfr This was the perfect fix for the problem many of us seem to be having. Had stopped playing the game and uninstalled it. Then decided to give it another go, so when I tried to reinstall it kept saying it needed an update but couldn't get it. I followed your idea and BAM....there it was. Installing from the disc was about 42gb, the update was around 63gb from the network. I installed the game from the xbox app as suggested, and once it installs, I'll put in the disc and if all goes well, I should be able to play again. Thanks for the moment of genius!

I'm trying to reinstall but I can only get to like 11% when "updating" and have done all the regular troubleshooting steps on a Xbox 1

I understand you own the physical edition of the game but experiencing some issues with the game installation or can not install the game update ? Could you please provide more details and screenshot of the error you are receiving?
To check which content is available to install:
1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
2. Select My games & apps from the sidebar.
3. Choose Full library, then All owned games.
4. Select the game you would like to install the content for.
5. Choose Install all to download all available game files and add-ons.
Alternatively, to download individual pieces of content, select Choose what to install, then Ready to install.
If the installation fails, please send us the image or the video demonstrating what happens during the installation process, so we can provide you the proper troubleshooting steps.

for the CD owners on Xbox there is a workaround given in the French forum by @Ubi-Cintre

It's also recommended to install AC Valhalla on the main HDD/SSD = inside the Xbox ( Thanks to @Ubi-Akatsirin for the reminder )
