So, once you complete the Rebel Missions in the Siege of Paris expansion, you’ll likely have acquired the Bellatores Armor Rune. I was initially excited about this rune because it reminds me of the abilities in the Jack the Ripper expansion from AC Syndicate (seriously, one of the best AC expansions ever made). Any way, I did some testing with this rune and discovered some limitations.

I didn’t notice enemies cowering in terror or running away when I killed someone from a distance with a predator bow or nearby with a hunter or light bow, so I started wondering if it was a melee only effect. I killed some dudes and saw no real difference either. However, as you can see in the video below, I noticed that when I performed a stun kill, a nearby enemy suddenly stopped and you can hear his terrified voice. It seems that the Bellatores rune creates a ‘stun’ in a small area, and only when performing a stun kill.

If you have played around with this rune, have you seen anything different? Corroboration and/or additional explanations would help. I am also interested if any information can be provided from the developers.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
