I've deleted the route and redone it several times. I've moved the route to try to make the ship avoid it but no matter what I do the ship ends up stuck in some corner of an unclaimed island to the right in the screenshot. Routing is making the ship go partway out and then turn around in the middle of nowhere and get stuck at that island. Routing is terribly broken.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

I really appreciate you sending across your experiences with oil trade routing, @pattycake2021 , and this screenshot. I'd really like to investigate this further.

Can you make sure you've verified the game files since the update? This may seem trivial, but it's a quick and easy step that just makes sure all the files are present, and not corrupted. Thanks.

I'd really like a copy of your save file with this oil trade route to pass on to our dev teams to help us investigate this issue. Can you upload it to a third party file hosting service of your choice, and then send me a link? Here's our support article showing where saves are stored.

Thanks so much for bringing this up. I'll keep an eye out for your response 🙂

@ubi-thrupney I have the exact same issue
my save game is: https://ufile.io/4nrbfpz1: (https://ufile.io/4nrbfpz1)
The problem comes when setting up a route to an island "new fairfax". I have tried re-creating the route several times and it continues to place the pathing point near the pirate island. I even tried moving the oil harbor however this didnt correct the issue.

Also further to this i tried loading 2 ships manually for that oil terminal that were parked near it and then tried to send them to the old world, the game crashed. I tried again several times and it induced a crash each time.

@xpaw82 I moved the oil harbor to another shoreline and it is now working

@ubi-thrupney I grew impatient because I wanted to play so I started a new game. So far it's working as intended but I did notice others having the same issue. I will post if I run into it again.

Are any of you using mods? Are any of you using a mod that affects the size of the harbour area? Such mods tend to break ship AI.

@sjefdeglyve yeah so playing around if you move the oil harbour on the same shore it doesnt fix it but if you move it to another shore it does

Hey guys, thanks for getting in touch and bringing this to our attention.

Taking into account that there is a sufficient workaround, I will still forward the information over to our development team for further review.

Our apologies about the inconvenience this may have caused and if you do run into any other difficulties, do not hesitate and reach out!
