I bought Valhalla for my girlfriend a few months ago to play, and over time it has proven increasingly unstable to the point of being unplayable. She can't play more than a couple minutes before the game crashes, or often on start up it'll crash before even in the game proper.

It is only Valhalla that's crashing. I've played and beaten Spider-Man: Miles Morales, FFVII: Remake, AC: Origins and AC: Odyssey on the PS5 without a single crash.

I bought the PS4 disc copy of the game, and have tried several times to delete the game entirely and redownload it, making sure the game and system is fully up to date, restarting the console, booting into safe mode and clearing the cache and rebuilding the database. I've tried being logged in/out of Ubisoft Connect.

At this point I'm at a loss of what to do. She really likes the game but it's unplayable now.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    @driscoll42 Hi there.

Sorry to hear you've been having increasing trouble running AC Valhalla on your PS5. Apologies for any disappointment this has caused you or your girlfriend.

Would you be able to answer a few questions to help us identify the issue?

    • Could you confirm that the game is running the most up to date version?
    • Are you receiving any error messages as the crash occurs?
    • Are there any particular actions that are taken that usually cause a crash / are there any patterns to the crashes? Or do they seem random?

Thank you for reaching out to us here.

I’ve been experiencing crashing for weeks now. At first it was infrequent, maybe once every 3-4 hours, now it’s every 5-15 minutes. It is happening randomly, I’m currently in Wincestre on the Plucking the Quill quest. I have the most current update.

    Any help is appreciated.

Hey @SIM-ZER, thanks for getting in touch, welcome to forums and sorry to hear about the issue you've been dealing with.

First, may I just double-check if you happen to receive any error message at all?

In the meantime, if you haven't already, give the following steps a go and see if it helps.

    Keep us updated!

@ubi-karl can someone tell me how to start a thread?

@ubi-karl The error message is: Report Problem ”Something went wrong with this game or app.” CE-108255-1

I’ve Accepted and Reported w/video clip every time… which at this point is hundreds of times over the last several months. It happens so frequently now I stopped playing (I just tried again and within 3 minutes it crashed, I restarted and it crashed immediately)… I really enjoy the game and I would’ve purchased the DLC’s but I’m so frustrated with it I’m giving up. I’ve tried everything, even moving my console to a vented area. I also couldn’t access the “steps” link in your reply… it just takes me to a dead end.

I don’t have this problem with other games (even No Man Sky which is notorious for crashing).
