Is this talent any good? I have a Devil's Due backpack with great attribute (type) rolls, but the levels are far from "god." in other words, it would take a considerable amount of resources to optimize it.

I know Clutch was nerfed some time ago. Is it bad enough now to not justify doing this?

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@sock_monkey I only really find it useful in group play [where you lose the killing blow at times]. Otherwise you're probably better off with Bloodsucker if you're looking for some healing.

Then again, I haven't run a build without Memento in a while.. It's just too good..

@latenitedelight Is Bloodsucker any better than the healing on Ridgeway's? I have that and am totally unimpressed - it's just too slow; the "armor on kill" I get from HF is WAY more helpful.

All of the skills with heal-over-time are useless in the DZ as stuff happens way too fast there. Even in the LZ it often requires camping out for a minute while your armor slooowly creeps up.

@sock_monkey Ridgeways is just a terrible choice for pretty much ANY build since bleed is so weak compared to fire dmg in the game, and if your goal is to BRRRRRRTTTTT a group down to low health and hide around a corner as they bleed out, its not a good idea to try on any difficulty above Challenging. Even then, its 'heal' is as weak as the nerfed heal from TP. It SOUNDS promising, at least on a 4pc HF build with a Dark Winter and the Ridgeways vest, but I find it is one of my over 48 loadouts that I just do not have any interest in playing (all on heroic).

I'm willing to give any build a try. God knows I have been trying to make an enjoyable and beneficial OD build for years, but OD is just hard to make it work right. It remains the only gearset that punishes you for using it in a group. If you do not get a killing blow, you lose your explosive ammo loop, and once out of the loop, you lose 30% WD with it.

Edit: To add to the discussion, I recently gave Glass Cannon a run on a squad of 3 build, and I negated its 50% dmg penalty with a Wyvern bag with Bloodsucker on it, and damn does it ever dump armor all over me as my skills go on a killing spree. It isn't helping my TTK on enemies, but it really gives me assurance that I can get flanked and take some shots, but still stay upright when the shooting stops.

    @sock_monkey Yes.

I have the same issue with most of the over time heals, except when I really amp up Regen. The Bonus Armor of Bloodsucker stacks up just like the Armor on Kill - enough to save your bacon if you get too cocky wading deep or forget about a spawn. Bloodsucker is usually my first suggestion to anyone having trouble with a full Red/Yellow "squishy" build solo.

@walkintarget1 I agree 100% the bleed damage is pathetic. I only use Ridgeway's in combination with an SMG that has Sadist on it and a backpack with Wicked.

So yeah, the bleed sucks, but it's really only meant to proc the latter two, which do an insane amount of damage combined in the DZ (added on top of 54% CHC and 148% CHD).

To date this is my favorite DZ farming build. It's not at all "competitive" in PvP, but I shred Landmark NPCs like a hot knife through butter. 🙂

@sock_monkey Absolutely Yes! Many people may not agree with me but "Perfect Clutch" has never disappointed me.
Not sure If you were in it but I made a whole thread about it on the old forums.

@sock_monkey Ridgeway with 4 HF + smg / sadist, wicked backpack is very fun . Run n Gun openworld / CP4 you are almost immortal. I do not need a shield. i almost insta heal all time

@imagine_brata That's literally my same DZ farming build - down to the smallest detail. I do use a shield for times (like the last "rush" of Heroic landmarks) when 6 or 8 Elite NPCs come at you all at once. You can't quite gun them down fast enough to get your armor-on-kill before you deplete, so the shield comes in handy.

I also add Stinger Hive, so even though my overall status effects is low (zero skill tiers) I have guaranteed procs on Sadist and Wicked.

For most "normal" PvP encounters I fare "OK" with it also. As we've stated in past threads there's always a handful of instantly-recognizable names that mange to melt you instantly with (apparently) the first couple shots out of their gun. They deny cheating, and I have no way to prove it, but when you inspect their builds post-mortem and it's nothing special or particularly higher damage or armor than yours but they still vaporize you in half-a-second, well it's more than suspicious.

But for the occasional other rogue encounters I can usually hold my own. RacialAdhesive- went after me last night while I was extracting and I got him the first time. He came back with a vengeance and as we started I realized I hadn't been to a CP in a good while and was totally out of medkits! My bad! I held him off best I could, but with no way to heal (and he fresh from the CP) he eventually got me on that second round. (Memo to self: check medkit inventory frequently)

I miss the old berserk / clutch build

@imagine_brata Berserk was removed as a skill/talent, right?

@imagine_brata Me too, it was the perfect example of build synergy. (Especially when combined with the original negotiators dilemma set that would drop a grenade every time your armor broke, lol) Back before clutch was nerfed at least health had a use, now health is absolutely useless.
