I got Far Cry 3 for free a couple days ago but it won't launch.
When I click play for Far Cry 3 it just pops up with
    "Starting game
Unable to start the game. Please check that your game has been installed correctly. If the problem persists, please contact Ubisoft Support.
Have you moved your game and/or its files? If so, select the folder where the game is now located"
so then I locate the game folder.
I click on (D:)/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Far Cry 3 and then it says "All game files have been successfully validated."
It never launches and just closes. I've redownloaded this 5 times and it still does this. My brain is tiny and I don't know what to do.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@one-iq If the game can't be started, it's most likely a security thing. Have you tried running Ubisoft Connect/Far Cry3 with Administrator privileges?

Maybe there are some troubleshooting tips at https://steve.farcry.eu

@steve64b I've ran Far Cry 3 with admin and I've ran Ubisoft with admin to open it and it still doesn't work.

@one-iq Hey there, can you please try installing the game and Ubisoft Connect launcher on the C drive and see if this is still popping up?

@one-iq Sorry to hear that you are receiving the same results on your C drive. To confirm, are both the Ubisoft Connect Launcher and Far Cry 3 currently installed on your C drive? I would also try a fresh Reinstall of Ubisoft Connect to see if this may help. You may also try to download and install the latest Visual C++ Redistributable Package for your system. You can download the latest Visual C++ Redistributable Package from Microsoft directly. Once you try this, you will need to restart Steam and Ubisoft Connect. Let us know if you still receive the same results.
