I can't believe my eyes that Ubisoft is doing Ghost Recon in the Free to Play version? Since the episode Wildlands, the game has been directed by Ghost War as PvP. That's enough for me.

Why Ghost Recon do free to play? That's the planned nonsense of XDefiant, which few will play.

Just yesterday, I wrote in support and gave them my feedback.
Ghost Recon should be such as Wildlands and Breakpoint. The Gear level system could include, but there should also be the option to turn off the Gear Level system as in Breakpoint.
But why isn't Breakpoint as good as Wildlands? It's because Wildlands was a little more realistic.
In short, robots and drones and futuristic things everywhere, Ghost Recon shouldn't be like that. It should be more realistic.

And when Ghost Recon is set to take place in the near future so that it has a line similar to the Future Soldier episode. I really enjoyed the Future Soldier episode because it was a nice Ghost Recon game in the right military style that this game should have.

Ghost Recon has a super open world. It just occurs to me that it's a little military. The game is action-packed, but it lacks a more military experience.
And they also cost few tactical options (realistic).

My opinion is like that. To make Ghost Recon more military, there should be a few things missing:

    • Military airdrop (jump out of an AI-controlled aircraft, over any territory).

    • Possibility to call military support (attack helicopters, air strike, artillery).

Military support works beautifully in games like Metal Gear Solid The Phantom Pain, SQUAD.

    • But also a Predator drone would definitely fit into the Ghost Recon game. Which acts as a spy UAV or attack UAV.

    • Camouflage should also work in the game, why does Ghost Recon Breakpoint have so many amazing camouflage options that don't work?

The problem is also in the AI team. Considering that there is one Sniper in GR: Breakpoint on the AI team. Why is it not possible to send him to a certain place, give him a command to observe the surroundings and mark the enemies. And at the right time to give him the order to fire?

Wildlands and Breakpoint take place on an almost identical island. And the island itself does not look much like a style where war should be used.
In Ghost Recon, I simply miss the African environment. I know it's a very controversial topic, but Ghost Recon even if in a fictional place, but that would be similar to Iraq or Afghanistan. This would be an environment full of tension, where I would expect it to be necessary to hide, the player would have to carry weapons hidden in his character. Or he would have to hide them in hiding places, in houses, etc.

The game would have a lot of pitfalls waiting for him, such as an ambush, an IED. The player would have to liberate territories that are occupied by terrorists.

Weapons, equipment, air / military support, the player would gradually and not quite easily unlock by completing many tasks and challenges. Or rescuing important people or documents.
But also by buying weapons and equipment.

And at that moment, a number of decisions would be made for the player.

Perform Black operations (illegal), even against Allied armies. For more money, but for more minus points that would be deducted from the trust that the allied army has in the player. And with large minus points, the number of enemies in the Allied ranks would increase.

Or to carry out legal operations commissioned only by the Allied armies, not to raise any money for their fulfillment. but for example trust or more support.

I would also consider whether to make the game in the third person or in the first person. Or whether it would be possible to switch between these view modes.

In short and well, make a Ghost Recon that will have a thrilling environment that will act as a war zone.
To make the Ghost Recon team really look like they are soldiers.
And don't make the game so arcade.
And I would put even more pressure on the focus on weapons, their behavior, their modification. Maybe I would also consider whether a WEIGHT SYSTEM would fit into the game, which would affect endurance, aiming, shooting, etc.
It's really not appropriate to do Ghost Recon in Free to Play mode, there are other games for that. And Ghost Recon already has a PvP mode called Ghost War. I do not agree with Ghost Recon Frontline.

The one special thing about Ghost Recon is the third person. The market is overflowed with first person shooters. You have Warzone that will simply destroy this game for a PVP experience.

If you want to compete, you have to find a niche like a third person realistic shooter. The big options are Fortnite and PUBG and I think this game could get a nice chunk of that market and take away players from Warzone if third person.

Ubisoft, please do not move forward with the FRONTLINE proyect. I actually do not know how did it come to this. The background, the feel of the Ghost Recon saga was never on the PVP aim, but you did add it to Breakpoint. Fine you did it but it was not the main gameplay. The real feel of the Ghost Recon saga was always the tactical approach, the Co-ops mode with other player or AIs even. The intencity and inmmersion of having a sqaud and planning the best strategy to engage or entering a facility is the true gameplay of Ghost Recon.

I know I am only a fan or player among millions of others players but the truth is that I am mad because of all shooter games there are on the market, Ghost Recon was one of the fews that their gameplay was not focused on a PVP approach, less a battleroyale. Honestly I never cared that others could criticize that I played a lot of Ghost Recon and not other shooter games, or that they would say that is not the best, because whenever I would play Future Solidier, Wildlands or Breakpoint I would love that the game would give me different scenarios that I would had to adapt and that they were challenged. I never felt that they were repetive or that they were the same, each game, even I would say level or boss, would have their own amazing story.

Please do not move forward on the FRONTLINE proyect.

    Re: [Ghost recon frontline](/topic/111127/ghost-recon-frontline)

A.) I would like to know why we require battle royal as a game mode for every franchise.

B.) Ghost recon needs a good push to continue being a successful franchise and the concept of ghost recon for many players will be hard to achieve with battle royal

C.) Many players want a truly tactical shooter which could be fulfilled by ghost recon if the Ubisoft dev teams would take and make it. This was the selling point for breakpoint which it never touched.

D.) Ghost recon breakpoint sold players on being pushed to the breaking point with the game which, honestly and sadly, it failed to do. Ghost recon is the living breathing essence of a near future tactical shooter, and the essence hasn't been fully embraced and I am afraid that frontline will create a greater void between many players and the franchise.

Ghost recon could use a solid fresh start with a more realistic body armor system, a more advanced loadout system, magazine style reload, and way more weapon and gear customization. Ghost recon would also benefit from a smarter Ai enemy system that makes the enemies more deadly by tactics and equipment, not by damage and health. Firearm customization is one of the best points that has been minimally invested in. Gear customization has been embraced partially but still has room to improve.

@gabagooey Exactly i think the same , First person is ok but with the choice with third person will be perfect. Ghost is that. Lot of games with the first person 😞
Fortnite Pubg are perfect with the third person and Ghost Frontline must be with the third person view.

I waited a BR since years from Ghost Recon and now we will have 😛 but we need a third view also.
Frontline will be great and different than warzone, pubg, fortnite, battlefield.

Ghost Recon is literraly different by the world and it's simulation not like Warzone...

The concept BR is a cool idea from "Frontline" but it miss the third view Ubisoft

First person is ok but with the choice with third person will be perfect and for all players. Ghost is that. Lot of games with the first person exists already and so speed 😞 Don't be the same please...

Fortnite Pubg are perfect with the third person and Ghost Frontline must be with the third person view with first person in option too.
We have to give our opinions in mass for this third view! I like Ghost for it.

A third view don't will be a disaster, with first it will be for the fan like me of Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

Third view it's immersive too when you see your soldier crawling and on the gameplay also.

Frontline is a superb idea because in the mode Ghost War, no lot of players played to 4vs4 and it is not a real BR.

Ubi you have a cool conception in BR i believe in it but with only first view...You will not have all fans Ghost players who love this thirs view. Please consider my opinion 🙂

I'm a streamer and i would like to have a cool game for it but keep the personality of Ghost Recon ,:)

We have Wildlands, Breakpoint and now a BR.

Fan of Ghost have a cool mode choice now 🙂

We realy need a new gr but not a pvp only. If they wabt to create this frintline they should create it thinking in the public, that mens that they need to create first the pve and then the pvp part.
Ubi will win more money if they mainte the games for more then three years of contnet puting more content pay and other that is not pay (this one with less items and story)

Look at the dislike numbers to the 20th anniversary video,I think it's clear that are frustrated with this, nobody wanted a battle royale clone of other games, we want ghost recon to stay ghost recon, not becoming a battle royale mess.

There will be a mass boycott of this game if you continue with the project, cancel it and re do it as you did with Splinter cell conviction and maybe this brand will go on.

We want tactics, we want a plot, we want a rich and active enviroment with random and diverse events, we want wildlands landscapes with breakpoint improvement of movements, we want to feel as special forces operators, this is ghost recon. Also, no RPG dynamics.

Agreed, wildlands was a refresh and great reintroduction to the series while breakpoint was a step back in my opinion. I doubt I would give this one a try even if it is "free".

    @hayden-rose @gabagooey
I would propose instead, giving the player the option of switching between first and third person perspectives - much like PUBG or even DAYZ - this opens the market to people of all play styles. I personally love that this game will be in first person and I hope they don’t change to strictly third person. But I do hope they are willing to introduce this option which I have just proposed, as I feel it would drastically improve the game. Lastly, I would love to think there are many things that will set this game apart from other BR games; late release for the hype of the genre, tactical shooter rather than a run-n-gun, class based squads, and many other things that should be available in any good tactical shooter.

Frontline is a mistake! Fans deserve an apology for this garbage. I know why the developers could not even look into the camera during the reveal... they were embarrassed because they knew that what they were doing was just wrong. The people responsible for this should be ashamed. This is a slap in the face to fans. We are not angsty 8 years olds playing fortnite in our parents basement.

Frontline needs to be dropped completely and they need to give us a proper Ghost Recon game... with third person for crying out loud. I have never been so disappointed with a publishers before... I mean the gaming industry has become bad... but this? Pathetic doesn't even cover it.

@thecomm96002 I have to agree. The intro video from GR Frontline looks like a mix of the extraction mode from The Division (from the Dark Zone), Fortnite (huge shield walls fall out of the sky) and Call of Duty (wild storm of bullets). I am a huge fan of GR Wildlands and I am heavily disappointed by GR Breakpoint. The idea of GR is about being a ghost: get into the LZ, move your way to the target, stay unseen (be a ghost) and get to the extraction point. Scouting, sneaking, and doing tactical decisions to avoid direct contact is the key. Once you have to go an rampage you have already lost. - In other words: just develop new missions for GR Wildlands (and even stay with the old game engine) and you get my money fast.
To be precise: mission "Silent Spade" in GR Wildlands was the pinnacle of superb mission design. Doing a base jump to use the parachute to infiltrate a military base, kill all hostiles silently, steal a helicopter, stay below radar and reach the extraction point was ... just awesome. This was the true spirit of Ghost Recon.

@streetking127 Switching between both would be great. The controls of shooting only in first person and navigating with third person would be preferred, in my opinion.

Frontline? What the hell is wrong with you guys? Ubisoft hasn't learned a thing from the players. They obvious have no creativity for a new storyline. 20 years and now GR is dying a horrible death!

Ghost Recon should be trying to separate themselves from Call of Duty The fact that they tried to go first person on this new front line game
    Is crazy.

(Ubisoft) because you botched the potential of wildlands pvp which is good but not as good as it could be. You should honestly take those mechanics along with the strategic game modes of wildlands and use that to make Frontline whatever you're trying to make it to be.

P.S I'm not feeling the three man teams you're trying to introduce into frontline if anything You need to increase the squad size to at least five.

I have so far loved every addition to the Ghost Recon Series.... including Breakpoint; even though it had its pitfalls... I will however be boycotting this hot garbage POS slap in the face rip off of every other battle royale that no one asked for. Battle Royales are for 3 year olds. they already have Fortnite.

I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER STUPID BR GAME, i will turn my back on this and let this thing burn itself to the ground because the devs put in charge of the series have either lost passion in it or are not allowed to put enough passion in, the same thing happened to breakpoint, that "Thing" has been on life support ever since it hit store shelves

I for one really like the idea of a FPS/Battle Royale Ghost Recon game. Just imagine the possibilities! Battle Royales usually work by playing as a squad so the formula really fits Ghost Recon quite well. I'm honestly excited.
