Locked SOLVED [DISCONTINUED] [PC] Unable to launch Far Cry 6 due to crashes / freezes | POST HERE26 Likes/881 Replies/46419 ViewsSamseDK 11 posts
@forwardtwo no problem, if I was you, I would run the scan again and check that your windows is good. Its like a game missing a file, but in windows. Alot of background processes, something could easly go wrong.
I do a SFC scan regualy, almost everytime after a windows update to be sure that windows is good.
Have a great weekend

having issues trying to continue my game. i deleted my old save, figuring that the save was corrupted, didn't work. so i tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it, still didn't work. then i tried to verify the game files, and that still didn't fix the issue. my drivers are up to date and i tried running it on lower settings. still nothing.

my computer meets the recommended specs and the game runs otherwise well enough, but whenever i unpause the game i get these huge lag spikes. since it seems to get worse the longer i play the game it made suspect a memory leak, at least whenever the lag makes the game unplayable my computer starts behaving as if it's running out of memory, strangely enough task manager still shows about 80% RAM usage which shouldn't cause such a reaction. anybody else got these random freezes?
Sorry to hear about your experience.
Can you please perform all of the troubleshooting steps listed in this article? This will help you to eliminate any potential software conflicts. If the issue persists, can you please provide us with your full PC specs against your in-game settings?
Many thanks and if you have any additional questions, please let us know.
PS: I merged your thread with our megathread for better visibility.
Sorry to hear about your experience.
In case of BSOD, can you please perform the following:
Check your Windows intregrity; you do this by holding WindowsButton down (windows flag in the buttom of your keyboard buttons) you hold it down and press X
Then you select Windows Powershell (ADMIN)
a blue screen should appear, and you type in this:
you let it run through, if its writes: "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." then you are good
if it writes something else in the end, multiple lines. Then you need to run the scan again, because that means it found errors in your windows.
Write me back how it goes

I've had the same issue. Already tried sfc /scannow and a clean driver install.
My system is running an i9-10900K, a RTX 2080Ti, and 32 GB of RAM. I was able to play through the starter island just fine, but after reaching the mainland I can play for maybe two hours before getting a BSOD. I'm running the game on a relatively new NVME SSD, and other applications and games work just fine.
Maybe this is similar to Far Cry 5's launch issues with high-core count CPUs?
@ubi-mark Seriously you guys need to fire the person who did the beta tests organization for this game in order to save ubisoft's future, its a disaster. The game results BSOD and restarts the whole PC without any windows 10 event logs or dump logs. 10900K and 32 GB ram with 3080 RTX crashes to bsod and restarts the system randomly in the game. Dont recommend me troubleshooting I already done all of them and I have the latest windows 10 with latest nvidia driver version. Instead recommend your developers to sit and work, because this is not a user computer issue, it is a shameful bug in the game. I will ask for a refund.

My system is an i9-10900 @3.7GHz, RTX3090, win10pro, Meg Z490 Godlike MB with 64gb ram, and game is installed on 970EVO plus 1TB SSD.
All drivers are up to date, and there is no overclock on any component.
All game settings are at max, 4k on a 120hz refresh screen. In game benchmark ran somewhere around 82-105ish or similar and average was (I think) 96 or so, I didn't write it down.
Benchmark ran perfectly smooth with no hitching or issues at all.
I completed the initial escape scene, and meeting a certain character and escorting him back to base on the starting island. For however long that took (an hour or so) there were no issues aside from the occasional missing voice audio in conversations.
The game was turned off at that point, and I started it again the following day.
This time, I was playing for somewhere around maybe 15 minutes when I had a BSOD occur, restarting my system. Temps are not an issue, PC is very well cooled and not overclocked, and all games I play have had zero issues at max 4k settings.
Restarted game, playing for maybe 10 minutes when I left PC with game running to have dinner, coming back a short time later, to find that my PC had reset again.
Third time playing, again for a short period, and this time the game just vanished, closing down with no error message or anything.
I have not played the game again since this occurred, as I am not willing to risk damaging my system to play a game with some serious issues.
I decided to post this here, as the BSOD issue was not listed on the Known Issues thread, and similar posts talking about game crashing were often either on console, crashing from losing connection with UBI+, or lower end PCs.
Are people with high end systems still having crashing issues, or BSOD causing system restarts? (I read a few of these issues on another site, not UBI forums)
Are there any fixes to this issue yet?
Thanks all for any assistance.
EDIT: Damn, last time I checked forums my issue wasn't listed. Just refreshed the forum, and saw the post: Blue Screen of Death with Page Fault Errors
If a mod could attach/move my comment onto that post, I would appreciate it.
I have the same problem. BSOD and pc restarts, happens randomly in the game.
10900K / 3080 RTX / 32 GB Ram / Windows 10 latest.
Sorry to hear that your game keeps freezing.
Can you please provide us with your full PC specs against your in-game graphics settings, so we can have a look?
Secondly, can you please perform all of the troubleshooting steps listed in this article? Many thanks and if you have any other questions, please let us know.
PS: For better visibility, I merged your thread with our megathread, so we can keep track of issues more efficiently.

Same here for me. I9-10900k, RTX3080, win10pro, 16gb ram, 970EVO 1TB SSD, drivers and win up to date, no OC. Playing on max setttings at 1440p. No BSOD but when it crashes it's restarting my system.

@ForwardTwo thanks mate for posting the details. I checked forums this morning and didn't see this post, so added my own.
Refreshed forum page and saw this listed, so asked admin if they could link mine to yours since it has been up longer.
Also ran sfc /SCANNOW with no integrity violations.
This is the only game doing this, even that buggy as hell crap game about the future city didn't cause any BSOD. (it just had a ton of other issues heh)
