Hey! Haven’t been around since Season 1 relapsed again. Was trying to play a little while ago but noticed a *slight* issue: the game stutters. Nearly constantly. Funny, right? Not really when you’re in combat and everyone teleports around you.

Game is installed on an SSD.

What have i tried to do to fix it?
    •Cold boot
    •Verifying files
•Turned off NVIDIA and Ubi overlays
•Updated drivers to the latest version
    •All unnecessary apps were closed
    •Lowest settings
    •60Hz vsync on and off
•48Hz (what i usually play at) vsync on and off

Now using DX12 fixes the issue, however using DX12 is an issue in and of itself...cause it crashes the game...frequently...

    What have i not done?
    •Fresh install
•Getting rid of games to give the SSD more space (but i doubt that’s causing the issue)

    Specs:
    i5-7300HQ 3.5GHz
    1060 6GB
    16GB RAM
    Installed on a 1TB 970EVO SSD
Connection is stable and wired, 11.5mb/s

I have no clue what could be causing the issue as the game has run fine since launch. Thanks for any help rendered.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@imthew0lf Yes I discovered this too, that DX11 is a stuttery mess lately. It tried DX11 because I have been using DX12 for a while, but it gets so many crashes of late, that I tried DX11 again, only to find that it is anything but smooth; with stuttering and severe lag. This wasn't the case before and does seem like a new problem.

Of note, the in game graphics setting "Extra Streaming Distance" can cause more stutter the higher it is set. I found a lot less when turning it down to a setting of 4.

Another note, I use AMD Freesync with an LG Nano-IPS monitor and STILL get stutter in DX11. I get zero stutter in DX12, but freeze crashes instead. This is why I have stopped playing currently, because it is a mess atm.

If you (or anyone reading) come across something that fixes the DX11 stutter, please update this thread and let us know 🙂
