    this makes absolutely no sense.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Because that's multiplayer, obviously. 🙂

    @mortilla_ uhh...no... the black market is weapons and special operations can be played solo...

    @milit4nt I see... I didn't know you could play them solo - that's cool, I guess.

    However, this wasn't my point.

    It's obviously a multiplayer/online feature.

    @mortilla_ why would it be??? There's nothing online about buying weapons and playing through a mission...

    Because it incentivizes online/coop play.

    "Special operations" is just another name for "coop" and you get awarded with currency by doing so - which you can then use in that marketplace/store.

    That store is constantly changing items, which will further incentivize people to return and play more coop. 🙂

    @mortilla_ what tf are you on? its not another name for coop, in facts it lets you play solo....and it creates a problem for offline players since we can't get certain weapons...not everyone has a constant stable internet connection.

    @milit4nt Modern Warfare 2 (or 3) had a coop mode where you could play solo too.

    That's beside the point, though.

    Right?

    I understand that always-online games are an issue, but that is ultimately on you to figure out - not Ubisoft.

    -Edit- Far Cry 6 isn't even "always online". Jeez.

    Dude, if you want to access the online features - go online. -_-

    @mortilla_ so its fine for them to be lazy, its my problem they couldn't bother to make it playable offline? Stop bootlicking.

    @milit4nt But you are playing this game offline, right?

    So, what are you on about?

    There are online features in the game, which include the marketplace in question. If you wish to use them - go online! Simple, dude.

    @mortilla_ i bet you're one of those people who would support it if the entire game was online only. People like you are enabling this [censored]. People like you are the reason stuff like this is online only. You'd defend this stuff no matter what, even though there's no real reason for them to require an internet connection, because you only care about yourself.

    @milit4nt Strong assumptions here.

    Look at my post history - I don't defend Ubisoft on here for the sake of defending them lol.

    Always online games as a concept have been around for a long time now -- also, you're enabling this as well, simply by buying their products, so. 🐷

    gg's.

    @mortilla_ well youre defending an online only single player feature for literally no reason other than "it incentivizes being online"...its poor design, there's no way around it, its unnecessary drm, ive been loving the game but this [censored] really bothered me cos the operations looked awesome.

    @a22ghooligan what are you on about? Patience? It's just a discussion...if anything you're the one being obnoxious.

    @milit4nt Please, don't get it confused; I'm just stating why it's even a thing.

    I used to be against single-player games going online, but that was in the early 2010s - when it was first introduced.

    It's a standard today, especially with Ubisoft games. So... Whatever it is you're trying to say today is irrelevant because a lot of people uttered these sentiments close to a decade ago, all to no avail.

    This is the future, whether you (or I) like it or not. 🐷

    @mortilla_ because its a standard it doesn't make it any less anti consumer and unjust. The fact you passively accept this stuff is enabling them to continue happening.

    @milit4nt No, silly.

    Our wallets do.

    That's the only thing that matters. 🐷
