Please let us go back into the animus as Layla rather than Basim (unblock the Enter the Animus option just before you go off to save the world), I really didn't like the way the modern day ended the game and it has kinda ruined what was a great game for me. I just don't feel comfortable playing as Basim (playing as Evoir), epically after his whole I will take all your skills etc speech. As it stands I either won't pick up the game again to finish off stuff/DLC or I will just have to roll back the save and try and forget the game has an ending.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Of course, it's disturbing to have to play Basim in the animus, but I personally enjoy the modern day ending. Actually, it's the first time I'm interested in the modern day story in a while.

Perhaps I'm one of the few, but I honestly HATE the whole 'modern day' animus aspect... I play the game to go into the past, not be pulled out to the 'present' when there really is nothing to do there. Also, the ending is the ending... kind of like reading a book, you really love the book but hate the ending... it is what it is. They aren't going to change the entire game simply because a relatively small few dislike it... 'hey author, please re-write your ending to how "I" prefer it." Yeah, that never ends well.

It would be fun, if Odin will do something to Loki through Animus in future updates.
Like Ezio spoke through time thx to Apple.

@as1r0nimo From what I've heard, they are not continuing this modern day storyline any further. The ending we received is it, the end of this trilogy is the end of this particular modern day storyline. I've also read they are contemplating completely ending the modern day aspect with the next AC title.

I am more than okay with this. In Valhalla, it felt like they added it as part of some legacy callback, and not because they wanted to. Plus, with the lead writer gone, I don't think there's anyone left who cares enough to do it well. Narratively, it is interesting, but within the pacing of the game, its always an unwelcome interruption. I hated it too.

Playing as Basim also makes me feel slimey and gross. But I accept it as part of the story. That its provocative makes the story more interesting.
