Would it be good or bad to be able to go prone in FC ?

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@carshop22 I would like to see that in some future FC. It would add to stealth approaches for sure.

I think it would definitely be a good option to have. And it wouldn’t be hard to implement either - just hold down the crouch button like in other FPS games.

I don't think any FC (going back to FC 2) has had prone. Though it is a great idea/suggestion! +1

@carshop22 I just logged on here specifically to make this same post.... Old FC games were about survival, stealth & wits.... Being able to go prone seems like a tactical decision that helps with all these things.

@carshop22 It would make little difference. I used to crouch when stealthily clearing an outpost during the first few hours, but now I just stand there and shoot whoever looks my way.

but Prone stance usually mean that the enemy perception is rather good, i.e. in PVP, or that you need the stance to control recoil, such as that of a machine gun. FC6 is neither.

@detroit_ninja I dunno about FC1 or 2, but ever since FC3, survival elements are only there to be there, and stealth is rather easy. FC has never been realistic since 3.

I would actually really like this option. It's highly unlikely to be implemented in FC6 but in future titles most definitely.

It's really weird when Dani goes prone in cutscenes but you can't do that in gameplay.

@carshop22 That's up to the developers. Prone did exist in Far Cry 1, Far Cry Instincts, Far Cry Instincts Evolution, Far Cry Instincts Predator and Far Cry Vengeance.

I would've just like to see farcry be the single player/story version of battlefield or cod!? Since they're ditching single player altogether...
