I was trying to use the Avispa Buzzer with these shoes equipped today only to discover they do not work at all. I flew around areas where there were tons of visible resources waiting to be looted (fuel, metal, meds, etc), even landing right next to a bunch. I also tested to see if maybe these shoes only work while driving a car, but this did not help. These shoes are definitely broken, at least in my game (Xbox Series X). I've only come across one other person experiencing this problem when I did a search, so I'm uncertain whether it is just us two or if this impacts everyone:

It's super easy for anyone to test out so I'm not going to go to the trouble of making a video. Just take my word for it and try them out for yourself if you've got a pair. 😉

Edit: There is a possibility that the Scrounger Coat isn't working as well. Average numbers of materials looted while wearing the coat versus not are about the same.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@ubi-karl I added an edit about the Scrounger Coat possibly not working as well, then noticed you had already replied and worried you may not have noticed. Thus you may want to forward another note to the developers to take a look at the entire Scrounger set while they're at it, just in case. Thanks!

They don't gather fuel, metal, meds, etc, they are not designed to.

what they will gather from a greater distance than without is things like vehicle scraps from vehicles you have destroyed.

think of how the gloves work with ammo and pesos getting them from further away, the shoes do much the same for vehicle scraps and maybe ammo etc.

@b101_uk I found that the shoes also loot enemy bodies when you kill them by running over them.

@mrsir1980 You don't need to wear those shoes to loot bodies when running directly over them. EDIT: Realized afterwards you meant in a vehicle lol. Sheesh, I am definitely having an off day.

@b101_uk Seriously? That sounds... well, not entirely useless. Just mostly useless I suppose. Sigh...

Hey guys, sorry for the delay. @b101_uk - thanks for the answer here.

As mentioned above, I can confirm that this is functioning as intended. The shoes pick up the same things that you would automatically also pick up if on foot. Should you have further questions regarding this or anything else, please don't hesitate to let me know.
