So playing multiplayer mode you have to do tons of coop missions for daily challenges. So I replayed the first coop mission - Dysfunction - dozens and dozens of times, clearing everything up using either chase drones of drone expert's laser drone. It takes about 10-12 minutes to do it.

These are the bugs I sometimes experience operating said drones:

    1) Sometimes when you’re trying to shoot a server (there are 5 of them) or a red CtOS box to unlock the doors your aiming moves instantly left or right on the same short distance resulting in a missing shot.

    2) Sometimes (guessing when there is an obstacle behind or above your drone so your view camera is located very, very close to the drone) your electric/laser bolt starts flying not where you’re aiming at, but below you, behind you, even through you. As a result you may accidentally shoot/destroy yourself, which is really annoying. It’s really hard to reproduce, so try to shoot below you while hanging under a ceiling or close to a wall.

    3) This one is just a visual glitch, but it's still worth mentioning. When raytraced reflections are turned on you can see a black/white sphere in the reflection, which is probably used for collision calculations to figure out what exactly you’re aiming at. So it's like someone forgot to mark it as not visible for ray traced reflections.

P.S: I'm playing the game through GeForce Now service using mouse and keyboard, so may be these bugs are GFN related only. I don't know. Also my hardware is so old, I couldn't find a way to record the footage of bugs or even make a screenshot. There are issues with GFN client, video codecs and my old graphics card so I have tons of visual artifacts even on my screenshots 😞

Btw, English is not my first language, so I'm really sorry if I messed up the game terminology and/or description above was confusing. I don't know a better way to describe these bugs, unfortunately.

@KenTWOu I am sorry for the difficulties you have been running into in Watch Dogs Legion. To confirm, does this behavior only occur during Dysfunction, or have you also experienced the same behavior in the missions or modes in-game? Also, if you can provide any screenshots or video clips of this activity happening during your playthrough on another device perhaps, we can share this with the team to further review as well. Thank you!

@ubi-smash Sorry for the late response, I tried to figure out the way to record the footage.

Here is the video demonstrating the first issue:

The quality is abysmal, because it was recorded from GeForce Now and then cropped.

As you can see the first shot was normal, but the 2nd one and the 3rd one were affected by the bug. As soon as I pressed fire button crosshair/reticle moved slightly right during the 2nd shot and slightly left during the 3rd one.

I can't remember if single player campaign has this rare issue, but it happens in multiplayer mode even outside this coop mission. I have a feeling that it mostly happens when I'm trying to shoot at stationary objects like red CtOS boxes or parked cars, but I'm not sure.

@ubi-smash Today I did more tests, I can confirm now that single player campaign also has this issue. I also tried to shoot while hovering my mouse over my table (zero movement from tracking sensor) and sometimes the bug was still there.

Now I'll try to find the way to consistently repeat the 2nd issue, which is self-shooting while operating the drone.

@ubi-smash Here's the video demonstrating the 2nd and the 3rd issues

I'll try to explain it again. When there is an obstacle behind or above your drone so your view camera is located very, very close to the drone (it switches in kinda first person view mode, which I turned on manually in the video for demonstration purposes) your electric/laser bolt starts flying not where you’re aiming at, but below you, above you, behind you, even through you. You can see debris/particles falling from the ceiling. As a result you can't shoot enemies below you and may even accidentally shoot/destroy yourself, which happened later in the video.

Also at the very beginning you can see the visual glitch I was talking about, when raytraced reflections are turned on there is black semi-sphere in the reflection (it's white on dark surfaces), which is used for collision calculations to figure out what exactly you’re aiming at. It's like someone forgot to mark the sphere as not visible for ray traced reflections.

@kentwou Thank you so much for those videos, and for that additional information explaining everything as well. Now that I can see what's going on, would you also confirm for me any troubleshooting steps you may have done to see if these issues can be resolved?

@ubistorm Well, I've made dozens of videos so now I know how to reproduce these issues, but I don't know how to resolve them.

    1) The first video is probably a result of auto aiming failure. By the way, please note that there is no drone auto aiming ray. So from player's stand point auto aiming kinda didn't kick in yet, that's really important.

Basically sometimes when you're operating a chase/laser drone and trying to shoot a stationary target and there is a moving target somewhere on the screen auto aiming algorithm falls and for some reason moves your crosshair towards that moving target. You can clearly see that in the video. When I shot the first server, there were no enemies around = no bug. When I shot the 2nd server there was a guy below on the ground, and crosshair moved towards him. When I shot the 3rd server, there were two guys on the left. Crosshair moved towards them as well. By the way, it happens even when using gamepad. I have Logitech F510, by the way.

It's easier to observe the bug in the first coop mission, because it's easier to create a situation 'stationary target and moving target nearby' there, and try to restart online/coop mission if the issue is there.

    2) The second video is probably auto aim related as well.

You need to fly under the ceiling or there must be a wall or a pillar behind you, basically anything to move camera view as close to your drone as possible to force auto switching camera view in first person view mode (or you can turn on first person view mode manually like I did in the 2nd video). When that happens aiming algorithm might fail and start shooting your bolts not where you're aiming at. The fact that sometimes you can shoot yourself is just one of the consequences of that. The point is when you're operating a drone in first person view mode near obstacles aiming becomes completely unreliable.

Like I can start the first coop mission, switch to my laser drone, position my back against the nearest wall without changing camera view and consistently destroy yourself by firing... well, i've made another video 🙂

    3) Regarding semi-sphere visual glitch. Just set ray traced reflections on ultra settings, fly near any reflective surface, aim at it, and you will see this semi-sphere.

Considering I'm playing the game through GeForce Now service on PC, there is not much I can do in terms of hardware/software updates. I tried to set the game control settings to default ones, tried to change Aim assist settings for gamepad, nothing helped.

@KenTWOu Once again, thank you so much for those video clips and further explanations on what happens in the videos, as well as further information on how to reproduce all of these issues. It's very much appreciated! Just to confirm further, have you reached out to GeForce Now support about these issues with the client itself? Are you also having any issues like this with any other game through GeForce Now?

@ubistorm Once again sorry for the late response.

GeForce Now support (by the way, I'm talking specifically about GFN Russia) is rather useless. I spoke with them several times regarding different game and service related issues significantly more important than these ones, and they helped me just once, when the issue was related to my account/billing. In all other cases they didn't even leave the feedback. Like 'we gave the info you provided to our specialists', and that's it - complete silence. That's how they operate.

So I'm not sure if bothering them with something specific like this is a good idea.

Regarding your second question, I've played a dozen of games through GFN, some of them were first person view shooters, some of them were third person view shooters (let's say, Control and the Division) and I never had an issue like that. Btw, I've completed Watch Dogs 1 and 2. Finished Legion campaign twice, I love the game. Played online Tac Ops missions, OMNI mission a lot, they have tons of shooting sequences. Aiming always was very precise, as if I played each game on my own PC.

In other words, I have these aiming issues only when operating these drones in Legion.

Hello @KenTWOu thank you for coming back to us.

The videos you managed to capture and the detailed descriptions of how some of the drones handle incorrectly are very helpful.

I will use the information you have given us and mention this to our Watch Dogs QA team to see if they are able to reproduce it following your steps. I will also make sure to mention you are using Geforce Now too.

Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention, if you notice anything else, control-wise, or any other strange graphical details you notice, please let us know and make a new thread about it in our forum, thank you, friend.

@ubi-milky To confirm, this is not an issue from Nvidia or Geforce Now. This happens in solo game session on PC with the game launched directly through Uplay. This is an issue with chase-drone auto targeting mechanics.
