    Hello,

    i have just a question;

    how possible is it, if Windows (10) by itself haves corrupted files that this let me freeze games?

    By entering the command "sfc /scannow" i had some damaged files, after repaired them i didnt have any freeze since 11 days. Before this action i had freezes every 10-30 min.

    Random luck ? Or possible Issue ? Or is Division 2 not depending on Windows files or corrupted files or something like this`?

    How possible is it that the Windows Defender causes a freeze by doing in background updates on Virussignature or Scans.

    Sometimes i can see in my Systemlog that the Defender is updating the Service and few minutes later was the Division2.exe not longer working.
    I dont use any other Virusscaner or other Background Software. No Discord or something like this also not Streaming.

    Every Troubleshooting doesnt help on my system. Tried every well known solution but nothing worked. With the exception of the mentioned Windows errors.
    I dont let the Defender scan the Gamefolders, also not the Anticheat Folder.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    @joeferro

    The crashing issue has zero connection with your system or Windows, even if you turn Defender off.

    There is no connection between running sfc and crash free playin, its just random luck and probably short playtimes.

    Check my thread for more details:

    Sorry for the delay in responding to this @joeferro !

    There are many factors that can lead to and impact PC and game performance, with system file issues and antivirus certainly being a possibility.

    May we please know the other troubleshooting steps you've also attempted?

    Did you follow this guide? Just so we can see what other steps we can suggest to you.

    Thank you!

    Hey Ubi-TheBerry,

    thanks for your answer.

    Yes i really tried your guide as a kind of Troubleshooting before.

    My Systemrequirement looks good, I910900K, 32GBRAM, Z590F Gaming Mainboard. All new in April this year.

    The only thing works for me fine is the following Option;

    I delete after every Gameplay the following folder:

    -ProgramFiles (x86)
    =>Ubisoft
    =>>Ubisoft Game Launcher
    =>>> Cache the first Folder on Top, sorted by Name

    Since i´ve deleting this after Playing, the Game doesnt freeze anymore. This now for 9 days.

    In my Nvidia Settings, 3D Settings Managment, for Shader Cache size here i selected UNLIMITED. Before there was a Limit of 128 MB i think.

    I´ve noticed that the Cache Folder in my Ubisoft Folder gets a size of more than 1000 files and over 100 MB-

    Maybe this Shader Topic can cause the Freezes in my opinion.

    Its worth a try ...

    However it would be great again, if the HC Chars could be restored. It should be possible for the Game to recognize how a Char has been died. Or whenever a Freeze is incoming the Char should be ported to a Safe Area.

    How does the devs think about some goodies for HC Players lost Chars ? Playing 0-40 needs enough time and playing always and always the story again is for HC Players who reached once the Endgame not really challenging.
    Could it be possibel to get Safepoints if an Char dies on a Game Bug?

    Or possible Suggestion ; Once a player reached LVL 40 SOLO ! So playing 0-40 HC Solo that yu can travel fast from the White House to play Warlords of NY as in the Expansion!?

    Thx a lot

    Whenever i have a Crash of Freeze i will inform yu

    Lets make the Division great again

    Hello @JoeFerro, thank you for your detailed reply, I am happy to hear that the freeze issue has seemingly stopped for you after deleting your Ubisoft Cache folder and making a few adjustments.

    Windows files can get corrupted for a number of reasons, usually, just like game files, this can happen if an update was interrupted, you lost connection, files were moved, or there was a crash or interruption whilst Windows was saving system files of its own.

    When it comes to restoring Hardcore characters, this is something we currently don't do for players, but I understand your concern if a game would crash whilst playing with one of these characters, it would be very upsetting if putting a lot of hours into that playthrough.
