    10 Minutes waiting for it to check for addons. Now I understand that this might be a network issue so I tried it offline. Same issue. Eventually when it does load and I click on 'continue' again it takes ages to acknowledge that I have done that. Sometimes a cloud save error, sometimes not but an absolute age to wait. In offline mode I have to click 3 or 4 times before it decides to load. If it is offline why the delay? If it is online then sort out your servers, I know it is not my connection. Ubi servers have been terrible for all games ever since the change to Connect.

    It never used to be like this so please change it back. Thanks.

    @spook1234567890 Just adding that I’ve also been experiencing this. The past few weeks I’ve had to clear reserved space and restart my Xbox in order to get it past that screen, which still takes 5 minutes or so. But since the game updated today it is forever stuck on “checking for add-ons” no matter what I do. I’ve been trying for the past 2 hours now — restarting multiple times and waiting 20+ minutes but nothing is working. 😞

    I'm sorry to hear you are both having to wait quite some time for it to check for addons.

    I don't think this should be a connection issue, as it should just be reading what you have installed.

    There's no known issues of this occuring at the moment, so I would suggest to just try a re-installation of the game and any additional content and updates first of all.

    @spook1234567890 I bought the game today on the Microsoft store and am having the same issue. Not able to get pass the checking add on start page.

    will definitely be asking for a refund from Microsoft if this is the case

    I am having the same problem. I have been on the checking for add on page for hours now. I love this game and am pretty bummed about this.

    @ubi-viral I have the same issue. I am stuck on ‘checking for add-ons’. If I uninstall and reinstall the game, will I lose my saved progress? Or will I be able to start where I left off? Thank you.

    Hello @PatentedOpossum , sorry to hear you are stuck on "checking for addons".

    Please upload your latest save to the cloud prior reinstalling the game and you will not lose your progress.

    Same issue. Have tried uninstalling both the game and add ons, and I’m still getting stuck. Is uninstalling, then reinstalling the only fix? Again, I’ve tried this once already…

    i just reinstalled the game after i switched from windows 10 to 11 and when i come to the screen of checking for addons i get thrown out of the game and need to start over again, i tried a few time and still the same problem, everything on my pc is up to date

    Could you please let us know what platform are you playing on? If you are experiencing longer-than-expected load times, please advise us how long does it take?

    @Hello @chin-chu and welcome to Discussions.
    Is it correct that you did not experience this issue until you upgraded to Windows 11? The process of checking for the add-ons is not something that we have any control over, nor can be prevented, as it is a mandatory part of the launch procedure for the game.  I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this, and would be happy to pass forward any feedback you have relating to the time spent checking for the add-ons.

    Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

    @ubi-oxavo i had indeed no problem on windows 10 but when i installed windows 11 i wanted to play valhalla again and get further into the game but now everytime i start the game up and it comes to the part of checking the addons after a minute the whole game shuts down and i need to restart the game again but it seems i never can get passed the checking of the addons, im thinking if you recently did a new patch update that something went wrong and that you cant get passed the add ons checking screen.

    I would really appriciate if you can check it out and fix it because i just bought the new expansion so i really want to play it but cant right now because of the problem

    The Title update 1.5.1 will be deployed on all supported platforms today, April 19th, 2022, therefore would you be so kind to install it and check if the issue still persists?

    Hi thanks for the big update but sadly enough i still cant get passed the addon check up because i get thrown out of the game and tried it sveral times. Going to try to uninstall the game completely and then reinstall it and then ill let you know what happens, so keept tuned pls
    After i reinstalled the game i did a verify check of the files and there all ok but still i cant get passed the addon check.
    Please fix this problem asap

    Hey @chin-chu

    This isn't a mass issue affecting many players so it's hard to know what's causing this unfortunately. Please could you try uninstall the game and Ubisoft Connect, then create a new Windows Admin account on your computer. Once you have done this, log in on that new account and reinstall Ubisoft Connect and the game. If you can try installing them on a different drive to before, please also try doing this. Let us know if you still have the error when launching the game again.

    @ubi-froggard hi I don’t know how to make a post. I just bought the game two days ago and can no longer get in as I too am having the checking for add ons issue. I am using a series X. I don’t want to have to try and get a refund I’d rather play the game.

    Hey @wdg31, thanks for reaching out, welcome to forums and sorry to hear you are affected by this as well.

    First and foremost, can I check if you possibly owned the Free Weekend version of the game in the past? If so, can you make sure that all of it is uninstalled and also, I'd suggest to try reinstalling the game completely and see if problem persists.

    I'm also having this issue on xbox one x been playing it for months on both a xbox s and x series all of a sudden about a week ago the add on issue started I uninstalled everything and reinstalled it it worked for about 2 days and the started the add on screen issue again sometime loading the game but no access to my opals or reda's shop so I exited the game reloaded it and it worked for one day today I uninstalled it again and reinstalled yet again no access can't play the game at all kind of mad my favorite game series and I can't finish it
