Sound is working fine but I have the Ubisoft version and the update was 25 GB

If you go to the \Assassin's Creed Odyssey\sounddata\PC folder there should be 7 files with updated timestamps

sounds_eng.pck
sounds_eng_female.pck
sounds_eng_male.pck
sounds_eng_music.pck
sounds_sfx.pck
sounds_sfx_music.pck
sounds_sfx_tu_17.pck

@longjohn119 Just checked and no file .pck file updated for steam and nosounds_sfx_music.pck or sounds_sfx_tu_17.pck file present.... smh

No sound for me too. Even verified the game files, And what the heck is this DLC but just glorified advertising for Valhalla (which btw you can't even purchase on Steam anyways). Great job guys someone went and pushed a broken build to production gg

@longjohn119 Those have not been updated for me and the last 3 you mention are not even present in my folder...

An unscheduled update has appeared for steam users, well at least for me.

@fishbone76 I just have downloaded today, and I have the same issue, only can hear the voice of the characters in the cinematics.

Same here, no sound after update. No Odyssey tonight but orgins instead

I cannot even load the game after the patch: it starts loading a save, then crashes right before it should've open game.

Update:
Never mind: I ran "Verify files" on Ubisoft Connect app - it found a bunch of corrupted [by the update] files and fixed it.
Now everything works, I even have a sound - Ubisoft Connect version.

Still not working. Mines updated at 10:15 still no sound...

@im_scuba_steve The update steam gave me did not fix the sounds, it simply started an install and then ended in seconds.

@im_scuba_steve Alamo just got the update, had to close down steam and open again.
But sadly still having same issues

I've put 17 hours into the game with the audio working just fine, but today i went to play and i have no sound other than the grunts the player makes while attacking and running.

me too, There are no voice in the game except cassandra herself, all games are normal except odssey. I've checked the latest sound card driver，it‘s new，There's no problem with the game settings too，i'm troubled, all the driver is new. i just want to play the new story. 

@leocrown Ubisoft or steam made an error with the newest update, where when they added sound files to the game for the new missions and such, they removed a lot of other sound files, it is not your drivers having issues. It is very sad, i was also looking forward to it.

Currently downloading a 3.7GB update to Odyssey on Steam (I had to restart Steam for it to show up), not sure if it'll fix the issue but keeping my fingers crossed.

An update has rolled out for the game now on steam (if you dont see it, close and reopen steam a few times and check your downloads) and from what i can see of the short 5 minutes i have played, the sounds should be back and fixed as @iChaosPaladin said further up. Happy gaming to you all.

@superdandux exit steam and log back in, it should start a 3.7GB update as of now
