What can we do?

@raxor96_508 Hi there, I'm very sorry to hear you've been having these difficulties since the recent patch. Since you've exhausted the troubleshooting in our FAQ, I'd advise that you contact our Support Team via our Support Website or Twitter, with an image of your port forwarding configuration. The ports required for Anno 1800 are located in the article here.
The exact process of port forwarding varies by router and internet provider. Usually, you can access your port forwarding configuration from your PC by logging into your router. Instructions are specific for every router and ISP, so you may need to contact them if you need more assistance with this.

I'm seeing exactly the same thing. As is my buddy who started it up only a few minutes ago. So we're both having Multiplayer - not available.

@garrusm92mantis Same for our group.
3 people, all in different timezones. Zero issues ever with game. After update? Matchmaking not aval. Tried fixing on our end. Has to be their end. Your network settings don't magically change due to a game updating.
@Raxor96_508 Really insulting they would tell people to forward a image with your ports after everyone is saying post update broke everything.

Me and my friends just decided to come back to the game today to find the multiplayer broken for all three of us.

@ubi-spacecats Telling your community to start opening and forwarding their ports is not a good response to an issue CREATED by YOUR update. You could also be telling people with little network knowledge to do things that if they interpret wrong could create vulnerabilities in their networks. This is a terrible response to a community that is coming to tell you that something is wrong.
And something IS wrong. The game worked perfectly as it was last night. Today; when the update went live, people are having issues like @Raxor96_508 , and @DogTheRipper and many more reporting the issue on "downDetector". And an update to your game wont magically change peoples network settings, as @wolfhunter510 has already explained. So, in this case it should be on your team to fix something that you have broken and not pushing the problem on to your user-base.

Add my partner and I to the list, Matchmaking unavailable since the update.
Same [censored] happened last update, at least let people know if there was an issue rather than blaming NAT or trying to get people to mess with port forwarding.

Same for us as well 3 in total, Multiplayer tab greyed out with an exclamation point over the network.

Same issue here.
Me and my friend wanted to play our multiplayer savegame from 3 days ago in Anno 1404 Historical Edition. We have an endless "Create new session" windows .
So I've launched Anno 1800 to play on this one, and "Matchmaking: Not available" ....

MP still not working until now
pls, do something ASAP. My 3k people needs me
Thanks for your answer.
I am an IT specialist myself and know about port forwarding.
Incoming port forwarding should theoretically not be necessary, as the connection is established outwards.
Before the update, it always worked for both of us without port fowarding.
Nevertheless, I activated port forwarding in my Router to my PC and also deactivated the firewall on my computer as a test.
However, the problem persists even after restarting the computer.
I agree with @KingPotatoBrain :
Even if port forwarding had worked, that would not have been the best solution because port forwarding can be a security risk.
And that's exactly the advantage of the Ubisoft online services: That I don't need to make an incoming port forward, because the Game Anno 1800 established the Connection outwards.
The result are incoming replies that are automatically assigned and forwarded to the outgoing connection.
Please investigate the problem because it appears to be a Ubisoft Online Service bug.

Hey guys, I thought I would just "chime in" here.
If you really want a "laugh" see the post "Black screen on startup."
I'm a retired 3rd level network/computer engineer with experience like some of you others on here. I have troubleshooted hardware and software problems for longer than I care to remember. The Ubi-"whatever's" on here are just grasping at straws, wasting our time while they "try" to fix issues caused by updates. If you'll notice on other posts as well as this one "Ubi-SpaceCats" is just a 'go-between' to try and keep US busy to buy their support staff more time to REALLY resolve the issues. I have been using the game since it came out in April 2019. And I have had to go through these "troubleshooting" sessions to help THEM resolve update issues. It's ALWAYS the same pattern (like many other games) where we play and enjoy the game until they update it and we can't enjoy it for a while - until THEY realize what they did to break it. Thanks for listening to my "2-cents" worth.
All that said ....
Port numbers, AS A RULE, do NOT need to be changed or bothered with when using games like this. The game will choose a port that it finds open (at your end) and use it. AND, keep in mind, port numbers go all the way up to 65,535 so there is NEVER a shortage of ports. Gaming ports, AS A RULE, are temporary and only used during your game session and can change from session to session. They are temporary and ALL routers/PCs/operating systems are aware of this.
Here is a direct quote from Wikipedia ...
"The range 49152–65535 (215 + 214 to 216 − 1) contains dynamic or private ports that cannot be registered with IANA. This range is used for private or customized services, for temporary purposes, and for automatic allocation of ephemeral ports."
So, AS A RULE, gamers do NOT have to do anything to "fix" port allocation or use. NOW, that is true UNLESS the user has MANUALLY changed something in their router or PC in relation to port allocation.
Think about it from a "common sense" perspective ... If gamers/users had to worry or know ANYTHING about ports then that alone would take the enjoyment away from MANY customers who are not willing to "learn" about ports (or port forwarding.)
So any "Ubi-whatever" telling you to even look at your "ports" is simply a way to buy THEM time.
At least you guys get to start your game which I can't do. (lol)
