Far Cry 3 -> Blood Dragon (80s futuristic cyberpunk)

Far Cry 4 -> Primal (Early homosapien hunter gatherer - My personal favourite)

Far Cry 5 -> New Dawn (Post nuclear apocalypse)

What could we be getting with Far Cry 6 if there will be one?

Could be set in the 15th century with the Spanish and the natives of Yara? (It would be like Primal but with primitive flintlocks and rapiers)
Maybe 18th century sea faring? (Black Flag but first person?)
    Wild West?
Revolution of 67? (Might not be so different from FC6 itself though?)

Thought it would be fun to speculate.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Far Cry 3 - future

    Far Cry 4 - past

    Far Cry 5 - future

    Looking at this.......Far Cry 6 - past.
    (or nearest future, as continuation)

Spanish vs natives of Yara - unlikely.
There is Assassin's Creed for that.

    Black Flag,1st person - hardly.

Wild West as Primal or New Dawn - possible.
Some comedy in Far Cry chaotic style.

    Cuban Revolution - impossible.
But as prequel to Far Cry 6 story - possible.

What game (between FC6 and FC7) would you prefer, yourself ???
    Setting, story.....

@gameguru2018 The 15th century Yaran's still seems interesting to me if they can make it like Mel Gibson's Apocalypto that would be cool. Aside from that Wild West would be awesome.

How about recreation of historical era?

I think there may be problems.
    It's not so easy.

Apocalypto......for me, it was a disgusting movie.
    Absolutely anti-Mayan.
    Leaves heavy feeling inside.
Hard to imagine what the descendants of Maya felt watching that.

But these times can be connected.
    There can be a bridge.

If to speak historically from Cuba Revolution to natives' struggle against colonizers.
    From Castro to Hatuey.

At the stake, asked by a priest if he would like to accept Christainity in order to go to heaven after death, with other christians, Hatuey refused and replied that he chooses Hell.

    Castro completed what Hatuey started.

Theoretically, the bridge from Far Cry 6 to those distant times can be thrown.

    As for Wild West.....
    It really fits Far Cry.

The question is what kind of Wild West?

If there is one, which I think is very likely, it could take place again in Yara around the year 1967, the year in which the Legends of '67 got their namesake. We'd get to see these Guerilla factions and their allies in their youth, and the story that helped shape modern Yara that we now see in the year 2021, while not exactly a spin-off, it's basically the opposite of what New Dawn was to Far Cry 5.

And yeah, it would be very similar to Far Cry 6, they'd have to really nail the setting, the development or Yara, or lack thereof, time appropriate weaponry, and especially the story. We probably wouldn't see Supremo's, or Amigo's for example (which isn't a bad thing) but there's definitely enough story to stretch into a game about the size of New Dawn.

It would also be the perfect game to bring back hunting and fishing in a meaningful way that actually adds to the games survival and crafting systems, the return of skill trees, the return of being able to pick-up enemy weapons, etc.

"It will be similar to Far Cry 6"

I think this is the answer.

But the soul wants something new.
    Something unusual.

    Something....."Wow!"

The western can echo the present days.
Events may unfold near the Mexican border.

With good story and music.....game would have a success.

(Something like "Heavy Horses", for instance, would be good.
Two first compositions, "Intro" and "Anyone Can Tell", would fit the game...)
