The "New projects available" notification in the bottom left of the screen is not clearing despite there being no new projects (I've viewed and scrolled over every project in the Projects menu multiple times).

Additionally, the project NPCs have the orange exclamation mark next to "Projects" (same in the map view) so I wonder if there may be unclaimed or partially completed projects that are expired (and no longer accessible) that are causing this issue? Just a guess. A button to manually reset these types of notifications in the settings would be helpful.

I've tried many troubleshooting steps and this bug still hasn't been resolved. This issue has been ongoing for days now and the more I see the icon the more annoying it becomes.

There are tens of other posts about this exact same issue dating back years so it seems this is a persistent, recurring bug/ issue. I don't know if the issue was ever fixed for the other posters as I was unable to find any fix when I researched this bug.

Is there any fix for this specific issue?

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

The solution is to buy the season pass that comes with each of them that unlocks all other rewards. Then you can actually see the hidden project that is causing it. You cannot clear this project since you don't have access to it in the list. Hence it remains available, where normal people would say it isn't because it's hidden, only UbiSoft thinks otherwise.

Hello everyone, thank you for posting about the 'new projects available' notification that will not disappear.

We have reported this to our Division team and we were able to reproduce this in certain situations. This is something we are looking into and is currently under investigation. When we know more, we will do our best to update you in our forums.

In the meantime, if you would like to help with our investigation, we would like to know the following >

    • Is it a recurring issue? If yes, when did it first start happening?
    • Does the issue occur regardless of the number of projects completed, or did you notice the completion of a certain number of projects that triggered it?
    • Does the notification disappear when changing the language in the settings menu? If so, which language made it dissappear?

Is it a recurring issue? If yes, when did it first start happening?

    Yes, since I started playing.

Does the issue occur regardless of the number of projects completed, or did you notice the completion of a certain number of projects that triggered it?

    Yes, it is always there.

Does the notification disappear when changing the language in the settings menu? If so, which language made it dissappear?

No. As the other poster stated, it seems like this is likely caused by not owning the season pass. I have no intention of purchasing a season pass just to get rid of a very annoying notification.

@ubi-milky What's the status on this one? I noticed it was reported almost one and a half years ago to the devs: https://devtrackers.gg/the-division/p/b324fb2e-new-projects-available-bug – and at that time the game was still actively supported, right?

It seems to me the notification is merely a symptom of the odd decision the TD2 team has made to remove some projects with the Warlords of New York expansion. This has led to many of us – without any warning – losing access to ongoing projects such as the Gunslinger holster once we travelled to New York. As the projects weren't completed and are nowhere to be found on our end, this notification is showing constantly. If it also gets in the way of incoming requests, it's not just a "visual glitch" like Ubisoft says in the link above.

I admit I only dabble in the odd mod coding, and as such have limited experience with game development in practice, but you'd think that in the time since September 2020 someone from the dev team should have been able to … oh, I don't know … add a toggle for new project notifications in the settings, at least?

@ubi-viral is there any updates or is this going to be addressed at all? Theses orange exclamation marks are still haunting me 😞

@noxious81 I own the Season Pass yet it is still there. This bug came back with the latest Season.
Also, I'm not able to see my daily Season Pass extra mission which as you know triggers this notification.

@ubi-milky Same issue here. I think it got stuck when I went from level 30 to level40 with the NY campaign. My guess is that some level 30 projects got stuck.

I also see something else on a regular basis: when Iplay with others or replay a mission some (mostly comms, but sometimes other) collectibles are marked "new" again.

    Hey @kvikveg7

We haven't got any updates on this threads issue currently but regarding your other issue, I don't see that being something currently reported and being looked into. Would you be able to capture a video showing things that aren't new being marked as new again? If so, please can you start a new thread for that issue and provide us the link to the video and we'll create a report for that to be looked into too.
