With the brightness correctly set for daytime the night moonlight and lighting from the sky is much too bright in AC Valhalla. Often surpassing the overall screen luminance of daytime!

Please bring the night time brightness in line with Far Cry 6 and the “darkest night” mode of Breakpoint or even competitors products.

If the design team has difficulty seeing this then please give them access to a console hooked up to a normal mid level Sony Bravia to see how poor the experience is and how this negatively affects the art direction (you cannot have vistas with twinkling lights of inviting hamlets if their lights are the same brightness as the surrounding landscape, nor suspend disbelief at the idea you are using cover of darkness when it looks like you’re sneaking up on enemies in a floodlit football stadium). I’ve ski’d at night in Scandinavia and walked many a mile at night time in the UK, even on the extremely rare brightest moonlit night the moonlight is not even 1/4 as bright as this.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Hey @pesto

I apologise for the delay getting back to you. Would you be able to clarify which platform you are playing on and could you provide a screenshot or a link to a video showing the issue so we can forward this to the dev team?

OK. Sure, but your site doesn’t allow attachment uploads, so they’re linked for however long this free image hosting site will have them. No idea if the bbcode will work.

These were taken using a manual camera, so same f-stop, iso and exposure, in order that you can see what I see on my screen as opposed to the gallery images that don’t always give an accurate representation.

The night basically looks the same as day with a slight darker blue cast. Notice how bright the sky is at night and ground surfaces. Eivor is darker but everything else is bright bright bright. Its so bad that if you take out a torch the glow at night actually makes it harder to see than without, this is the only game where a torch makes it harder to see.
