    Hi Ubisoft/R6E team

I really love the game, I've been waiting for a PvE Rainbow Six Siege type game for a long time, but have to say that since I play Solo most of the time, the Prothean is extremely unfun. Having to spam 1000+ bullets into an enemy never is fun, and I really wish developers in this current-day gamedev environment would realize that.
Especially not when in the last 15% of its health or so, there are so many clones spawned that shoot you from all direction and they all take so many bullets to destroy that you just get destroyed on your own. It's pretty much a requirement to go with other people to widdle its health down faster.
It wouldn't be a problem if it was a separate mode, but any time I set the difficulty to the second difficulty (since I do eventually want more of a challenge than what the Moderate difficulty gives) it often gives me that Prothean mode.

I feel like that specific one hasn't been balanced properly for solo play, but honestly, I would even go as far as saying it's not balanced well at all overall. Maybe let the clones be killed by one shot headshots, just not the main enemy? That way overwhelming amounts aren't as much a problem as long as you can aim. Having to pump and entire magazine into the head of one of the clones just feels too much, especially since it doesn't do little to the main Prothean.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@caramelvt Ya I think it's common trap developers fall into where difficulty = enemy with lots of health.

Personally how I would have designed protean battle would be to break the battle into 3 phases.
The entire time Protean is wandering around

Investigate - First you need to quietly sample 3 nests to see which strain of virus it is.
Setup - Once you get the strain ID you need to setup the Traps. Which requires you to drop the strain into a yellow carpet like object.
Execution - You need to bait protean into trap and activate it. This will rip off its armor for 30s letting you do high damage to it.

In Solo - Stealth first 2
In Coop - one person can keep Protean busy while other person sets up traps.

@caramelvt The game is not balanced for solo play because it was sold as a multiplayer game and they have stated that many times.

Solo play is there if you want to try it for practice or whatever but it wasn’t made as a single player game.

They have said this since the beginning

@disneyadventure There's a dedicated solo mode and even a cutscene for it, so yes: they totally designed that for solo play. Solo is perfectly possible for the most part in this game, but some parts just need a bit of balancing, that's all. Asking for a bit of balancing is not unreasonable at all.

Haven't played the Protean yet, but isn't it a matter of picking the correct Operator/gear/gadgets combo?

    EDIT: The person in

did it with Lion and a *silenced* weapon, which does 22 damage. Simply removing the silencer would almost double the damage output?

I also like this Operator but I play with the DMR, unsilenced and that does 69 damage. As a general rule of thumb for solo players: go loud on primary, and silent/stealth on secondary. So you can stay silent if you want, but if all goes to [censored] then you just switch weapons, go loud and do damage.

Pretty sure this one is doable (vid kind of proves this ;))

@nlxarosa You can just go loud everywhere if you carry stun grenades especially on solo since you get like 30 of them or something. It’s a fun play style with taking down everything. Don’t even really need a weapon at all.

@caramelvt thats ubisofts go too, its difficult due to being a bullet sponge, not because its smart...next go to is being overrun as a difficult setting...games a good idea, execution is poor, i get those are difficult to manage but why bother eith anything other than easy mode solo? You lose a severe round in a group by wiping and i just went from 11 to 8. The game isnt worth harder difficulties...it limits the game severely, so much so im not even fussed about finishing it

Seems if you use random match making and don't have a fixed team:

Go easy match making/solo and get all the way to Milestone 30, no silencers. Pretty much unlikely to ever lose operator this way. All operators would of reached rank 10 by final milestone.

XP required between Milestones is consistent and not exponential increase. So 7-9 games you reach next milestone.

Then enjoy match make higher difficulties knowing you've unlocked everything now so no matter if MIA, even if milestone goes down what you've unlocked is not lost.

Extract MIA on easy mode then return to higher difficulty.

@peter8uk completed severe as a random team but nobody sticks around to do it again yet will be randomly matchmaking right after...but yes, the key here is you cant trust others when extracting an mia, even on the easy setting.

My personal favourite is the invincible elites, what a ridiculous idea
