  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@i_am_perplexing Try the Heartbreaker. Its supposed to be very good. Other than that try making a combination of blue (defense) and red (offensive).

    Have a nice day!

You might want to balance your offensive and defensive gear choice by adding some skill tier attributes.
Max out your weapons offensive attributes capability so they hit hard, but don't rely on rounds per minute. Ammo count becomes ever more crucial as you face tougher and tougher enemies.
Choose skills [2] that can be active stand-alone offensive tools, like the assault turret, the seeker mine, the striker drone, and stinger hive. They are kind of set and forget while you fully focus making your shots count.
The other skill tech choices can be used if and when you know in advance what type of enemy you'll be facing, ie; enemy electronics.

There really are a number of build options, and you'll have to play around with different gear to find what suits your particular play style before going heroic.

    Sam.SamFisher, out.

@i_am_perplexing for SMGs you're probably looking more at a Hunters Fury build. Heartbreaker as suggested is a build for ARs and LMGs. Tbh pistols are a little useless now unless you're using a pistol build. The talent on them doesnt matter now like it did pre wony where it could help your build.

As a mini guide to building. Crit chance is maxed at 60%, crit damage has no max, ideally you're looking for a minimum 50% chc and 150% chd. 1.1m armour is squishy, 1.3m is still squishy still hitd hard, 1.5m is probably the sweet spot, for a hunters build 1.7m still hits close range due to the perks of the build. Each brand set has a 3 bonuses to the brand, green gear has 4. So you should never wear over 3 gold or 4 green of the same brand. Specialisations have weapon damage so spec into your favourite type of weapon that you're using.

Alot on a build tbh depends on what your style of play is, do you get in their faces up close, do you hide in cover and shoot from there, do you do a bit of both from a medium range etc?

i am using military G36 /G36C exclusively sort of guy. Currently running a AR full red negotiator build, doing heroic missions amd World event solo without issue.

i use coyote mask, Fennis chest and all the rest negotiator. Chest i will suggest use unbreakable first, once you are comfortable, swap to obliterate. Weapons with dmg 10% damage to out of cover and strained. Normally i go with G36 and baker’s dozen, but sometimes when i am expecting more CQB i will bring SMG and G36, SMG can melt any elite that came extremely close.

This way you can mark and melt 3 foes at the same time.

it takes 3 green pieces to do what one gold piece can do. The additional percentage points aren’t enough. Armor regen is important for staying alive long enough to get a kill. Headshot damage is important too.
two pieces of Belstone is a good start.

I can post a couple of builds that'll let you sleep walk through heroic, but to understand the build process, is really not that complicated once you get a grasp on it; and frankly, it isn't any different from any other game: you just have to stack stats that better align with your playing style.

A few pointers/principles, all obviously IMO:

If I am basing a build around a specific type of weapon (which, for the record, I prefer to base it on gear attribute, not the weapon), I look at the stat that I cannot recalibrate (other than weapon dmg) and go from there. For example, you mention SMG's; the SMG stat you cannot change is 21% critical hit chance, which is substantial. You can get to the 60% CHC limit with ease, and stack critical hit damage on your gear.

So I start with a combination of Sokolov, Sombra, and Ceska... my crits build uses 2 Sokolov, 1 Ceska, 1 Sombra; the rest, I use Improvised gear, so I can stack CHD via gear mods (all pieces of improvised gear take gear mods). This build has 59% CHC and 224% CHD, full red; I don't know if I can squeeze in more CHD, have not tried; I don't use coyote since using an SMG means I'm going to be close to the targets, and I prefer to have as little distance conditional stats as possible. The weapon of choice is Dark Winter... I can use others, but I like that one. gear talents, I use 15% weapon damage on cover (Composure) and weapon damage when dealing skill damage (Spark),either with turret or drone (or both); they do damage themselves and aggro mobs too, which is cool when you are solo.

If you want to use an SMG with added survivability, you can go with the Hunters Fury gear set, which will allow you to stack CHC and CHD (not as much as an all high end gear build, mine has 59% CHC but only 155% CHD, haven't tried to squeeze in more CHD) but it gives you armor on kill, and confuses enemies for long enough to give you a chance to reload and do it again; you could pair that with Preservation on your SMG, for % of armor returned on kill as well.

Personally, I don't have any armor on my gear except for a shield build I rarely use. Either reds or yellows most of the time.

The strength of the green sets is in the special gear talents that you get when you pair chest and backpack, not the regular stats. Obviously not all are created equal, but...
