Help states it is possible to move (to a new location) a group of houses. Unfortunately they failed to explain how to do it.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@yorky65 This forum is a mystery to me and to-date very unhelpful. I heard via 'Help' that moving a group of houses and even roads is possible but despite my request did not explain the method to do so. I may be an octogenarian but I have used a number of forums for other programs without problem. Surely someone must know the method to do the above please/!!!!

Hey Yorky65, there's currently no such feature in the game. It's only possible to move single buildings.

Copy and paste would work, but once pop building on it, only way is move single building or delete building and rebuilding, Road can't move at all, you had to delete it, but road can be move only in copy mode and paste it, but other than that, once building and road pop on land, it's done other than delete or move single building, you had to delete it all, or move by single building (road can't move at any all, other then copy and paste or delete.

You can't do this at the moment.

But I would like to repeat a suggestion that this feature should be added in a future update. You can copy (copy/paste) a whole block, or upgrade (or downgrade) a whole block, so it would be great if you could also move a whole block (cut/paste). I've lost count of how many times I've been trying to layout a block (especially in blueprint mode), only to find it doesn't quite fit and I need to move it over a couple of squares of the grid. As Humility925 says, you could copy it to a completely empty space, delete the first try, then copy the dummy. But this only works if you have space for the dummy copy. And it takes several copy/paste/delete steps.
It would be so nice if you could do it as a single action.
