What's wrong with helicopters in Far Cry 62 Likes/2 Replies/384 ViewsOriginal poster PhumeleleSJose 4 posts
Helicopters in FC6 to not be able to pitch up and down more than like 2 degrees, as a result being unable to hit something on level ground at ranges below half a kilometer away, and die after being hit with no more than 7 bullets? On top of that, why can AI-controlled helicopters just... have their bullets go straight down after coming out of the barrel instead of having to aim? that seems incredibly unfair, if AI can actually do ground attack in a heli while the player can't.
Side note, do the player-spawned aircraft seriously not have weapons?

Ubisoft has always really struggled with flying vehicles. In their other games I have played (GR Wildlands, GR Breakpoint, FC4, FC5) its the same. There is no decent implementation of pitch, yaw & roll. Its terrible.
I'm not asking for a flight simulator but I will point to a game that does airplane and helicopter controls very very well - GTA5.
In that game you can actually do pedal turns (yaw axis) in a helicopter. They pitch down realistically when you do aggressive takeoffs and then climb out. It actually feels like flight whereas in Ubi games it feels like we are controlling a consumer drone on rails. The movement is terrible.
They really need to fix what you have mentioned, AI copters shooting straight down and give the copters proper flight axis' !!
