In the last few weeks, I have noticed more and more that spammers have been methodically abusing the discussion space on the Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla forum. Most of the time the posts are about pharmaceuticals, but this morning I opened up the forum to see numerous discussion pages full of repeated posts created by new accounts or fake accounts for links to sports events (European football, in this case).

Ubisoft needs to do something about this immediately. It is not enough to depend on forum members to report every spammer because they keep creating new accounts and make multiple posts over the course of several hours. There needs to be a new vetting system to limit the kinds of people who can make accounts for these discussion forums. It may sound extreme, but perhaps it would be appropriate to limit only actual players of Ubisoft games to be able to post in Ubisoft forums. Ubisoft Connect keeps a log of which games a player plays and for how long. Set up a a minimum criteria of how long someone has been a Ubisoft gamer before letting new people join these forums to post whatever they want. Freedom of expression does not have to be restricted... but freedom from unreasonable disruption should be enforced better.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

It's been like that as long as I've used these forums and the previous ones. Ubisoft "Community Managers" seem to be either busy elsewhere or they only work a couple of hours every few weeks, going by the replies to threads and how delayed they are. Ubi simply doesn't care, I wonder why they even have forums.

@xbl_laberbacke Seems like the purpose of the forums is for players to report bugs so that Ubisoft doesn’t have to pay for professional testers.

    Typical !!

Moderators are in forum answering questons in player support, but they will not even move finger to remove spam created for hours !

Constantly give dumb excuse about ways been made to prevent the spam, but that will never happen ! the forum will end up just like previous one !
