    I've just started playing Assassins creed Valhalla

    I've been playing for 20 hours and the game has started crashing over and over again during raids, any and all raids. I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and the problem is still persisting.

    It's a digital download of the Gold edition. I have restarted the console several times and play in offline mode 90% of the time because internet costs are insane where I live. I have updated both the console and the game.

    @ashiwashi this has been happening to me as well, though I haven't been raiding. It's doing it to me every ten minutes of regular gameplay (give or take a few minutes). I'll be gaming along and screen will freeze, audio picks up in a second or two but screen still frozen, then black screen to main loading screen. Makes it uplayable.

    Edit to add that this only started happening this last weekend (I usually only play on the weekends, so this bug could have been introduced late Feb early March. The previous weekend I didn't have any problems, nor have I ever had this problem at all in several months of play, sometimes with multi-hour sessions). This doesn't happen in any other game I play, either.

    Same here, strangely enough I played without issues over the weekend but as from today, the issue is back, this is frustrating!

    @ubi-borealis from what I can see nothing specific triggers it. It’s happened during different missions/locations etc. I can play anywhere between 5 mins to a few hours and it happens. I have tried all troubleshooting suggestions and completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Including add ons

    There are no error codes. The game just freezes and turns off. Xbox goes back to Home Screen. I’ve had the problem around the time I downloaded Ragnarok (day it was released). I have also tried playing the game with Ragnarok removed but still had the issue

    Same issue for me on Xbox One X. I played flawlessly for 35 hours over the last month when I picked the game back up to play. Starting on 4/6 (when an update to the xbox apparently happened) it will crash after approximately 5-10 minutes of gameplay. It freezes on the screen and then goes black and back to Xbox Menu.

    Please help! I finally got into a game that I loved after many years and now I refuse to play it because of the frustration.

    Hello again @Swifkel16, thank you for providing more information about the crash and please accept my apologies for not getting back to you sooner.
    Title update 1.5.1 will be deployed on all supported platforms today, April 19th, 2022, therefore would you be so kind to install it and check if the issue still persists?

    Welcome to Discussions @bulldawgdad1976. That's really frustrating to read that the game keeps freezing and crashing so frequently.
    Could you please confirm the following:

    • Did this only start to happen after the most recent update or did you experience crashes prior to the update
    • Does the crash occur when you do something specific in game such as fighting, viewing the map, riding a horse etc or if you are in a certain region or on a certain map
    • What is the current main story quest in your quest log

    Greetings, @EliteJelyHead , I am sorry to hear about that. Could you please clarify for me, does the game crash or you you can not launch it at all? Could you please go through the Xbox troubleshooting if you haven't already done so then try again.

    @ubi-oxavo Ive now experienced these crashes while playing dawn of Ragnarok after an hour it will freeze then resume about 2 or three times and then hard crash and close the game and send me back to the Xbox home screen it has happened during combat and just exploring I have re installed the game and used Xbox troubleshooter and still the problem is there I am also on the latest version I'm running from a disc these problems only started happening after I installed dawn of Ragnarok this is extremely frustrating as I e spent hard earned money on a DLC that I thought would have been included in the season pass initially so now I've spent about 4 games worth of money on this game put in over 100 hours only to have the game virtually unplayable now and its not like the game was bug free before Ragnarok either how many times must I spend money on the game only to make it unplayable

    i figured out how to get back in the game. Instead of using continue on the top, go down to load. Choose a previous load spot that’s a few minutes earlier prior to the crash. It’s the only way I could even get it to load.

    Have we come up with a fix yet for the freezing/crashing on Xbox S????

    I've done all the steps listed above, and nothing addresses the issue. Really frustrating - every 45min - 1hr, characters behin to Pixelate and/or completely dissappear, and then the game shuts down and heads back to home screen.

    Ubisoft....we working on a fix here? Hard to pay the money for expansion packs when I can't even finish the first game without logging back in every stinking hour.

    @bigcass03 Having same problem, can’t believe nothing is being done. The game is useless and cost me £60!
