  • UNSOLVED Red hair colours still broken over a year after an early patch messed them up, plus issues with other hair colours

    I did see and respond to an old thread with this the other day before reading the rules that we're not supposed to bump, and since that thread is kind of dry anyway I just wanted to start a new one.

    Basically what the title says, this is still an ongoing issue. As they are right now, the red hair colours still look atrocious. They looked amazing at launch, a beautiful deep ginger-auburn sort of tone, until a patch broke them and it's now flat yellow-orange, they now look like Eivor has has cheesy nacho dip thrown over head. In some lighting conditions it shines far too brightly and even has a pinkish tone to it sometimes.

    Some screenshots taken from the aforementioned thread and around the internet to show the difference. Before;

    Now;

    As someone who LOVED the way they looked before and was really committed at the time to the idea of playing a redhead Eivor - red hair being rare enough on video game protagonists - I was extremely disappointed when this changed happened, and even more disappointed to see patch after patch after patch after patch after patch go by and this has still not been addressed. If it's an issue with maybe newer players preferring the new look (for reasons beyond my comprehension) ok fine keep the newer ones and give us another option for the darker red in the game alongside them. Whatever happens though I really want those deeper red hair colours back in the game, as they were at launch.

    I'm also reminded because the new hairstyle we got in the DoR DLC, this inexplicably looks a lot better. It's still not exactly the same as the others were at launch, but it is significantly better, especially seen from a distance rather than up close like this.

    So it's not even just an issue of most of them looking terrible, they're not even internally consistent. The Celtic Hair from the Wrath of The Druids DLC looks like a weird splotchy fire engine red mixed with light brown.

    Furthermore, there is still an issue with the default male hair clipping into the scalp on the right side of the head at the back, which is especially noticeable on the dark brown hair mesh. There's been a lot of various issues with hair clipping that have already been fixed in this game's life cycle so I'm unsure why this still hasn't.

    I hope this does get fixed, because again there is zero point giving us all these different customisation options if most of it looks bad.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    @lelixandre Hi there, thanks for reaching out about this! I apologize for the delayed response.

    You mentioned this started after an early patch, do you know which one? Additionally, do you have any screenshots of the clipping issue you mentioned with the default male hair?
