  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Do you have any link or source for this rumor? Generally, a lot of rumors are just brainfarts of some busybodies, trying to catch some attention. So before having anything that back up a rumor at least a tiny little bit, it's not even worth thinking about it...

@noxious81 I wouldn't be surprised if they did, or at least make some huge changes. At the moment the skills are outperforming many other builds, and as player you don't even have to do anything. Am completing the current season on alt characters for missing collectables and using optimized skill builds. Just drop turret at right spot, launch drone then sit back and relax, occasionally firing few shots to trigged the fights. The game itself it completing everything for me, which is nice because having to do all tasks over and over again is getting kind of boring.

@echolecter isn't just sitting back and letting skills complete stuff also boring? 😕

I could care less if they dropped In-Sync.. but that's just because I don't really use skills.

Heartland is a game set in the Division Universe, it's not a Division Game and was never pitched as such. Anyone expecting a full Division Universe experience from a F2P game focused on PvPvE, only has themselves to blame for setting wildly unrealistic expectations. Do you like running around the DZ, focused on shooting and Landmarks? Try Heartlands. Do you love looting and skills? Don't bother with Heartlands. The end.

Well at least you can do other things in the meantime while areas are cleared automatically ...

@agent_vxg Heard about these rumors, don't believe they're true, but I am all for In-Sync being removed. The talent is abused and unbalanced in collaboration with using a shield. The majority of the player base uses the same build, ((Famas (with In-Sync), shield skill, damage to armor, damage out of cover, survivalist specialization, unbreakable, 1.3 - 1.5 mil armor)). I encourage as many changes to diversify gameplay. I am not a great PvP player by any means and I enjoy getting my [censored] beat by someone with a creative, unique build, but getting killed by the same build, over and over on a daily bases by so many different people makes the gameplay stale. It's just annoying. It's also rumored that shields will be removed from PvP and PvE, another great change I completely support. If these changes are actually implemented, hope to see more players who use builds with this gear are as upset as you so we don't have to deal with aggressive, try hard, toxic players who do nothing but complain and exploit overlooked mechanics.

@xcel30 It was a Youtube video that posted a "leak", assuming it's not true, but also not against the changes that may have been leaked. Changes that stuck out to me was the removal of In-Sync all together and shields in PvP and PvE. I for one welcome both of those changes.

@raciaiadhesive I always felt they just need to turn the Crusader into Hipfire Acc/Stb with a reload penalty and longer open/close animation.

Without the shield [if true], I wonder if they'd introduce a new skill or change armor to make being a Tank possible? Right now the only real way to do so is with a shield - and even then, with the way aggro works, it's not easy to pull off.

They should just reduce the In-Sync, Intimidate, and AD bonuses in PvP, like they do for Unbreakable.

@latenitedelight I agree. Having hipfire accuracy with a reload penalty when using the Crusader shield is a great, simple way to balance that combination. With the new content, I very much hope we see balance changes that does away with cheese builds.

Less of a leak, more of someone's wishlist it seems. 😁

i mean... shields are an intrinsic part of gameplay now , they are a part of the game and part of the way everyone plays to a certain extent , i dont see the most used skill being taken out from the game at this point .

but coming from massive... i wouldnt be suprised , they have a long history of not doing the right thing .

Skills help solo players a lot, and all this removing/nerfing stuff because someone thinks it's not fair is nonsense, Overwatch for example used to be 25% now it's 12%, it reminds me of the LMB's yelling at you in Div 1 "What are you scared of over there?". How about removing re-viving players in groups so once their dead their dead, or why not get rid of memento because it's three backpacks in one, or the scorpio or the ................

I wish the devs would just leave the flaming game alone!

@aced_100 eh, I play solo most of the time, and rarely touch skills - but then I'm only here for the Shooter half of the equation.

Honestly though, shields never made sense to me [even though I loved my Captain America build in Gear 1.0 - and have a Bulwark Tank build in 2.0], since this is a cover based game. Mobile cover [as in a shield you set into the ground] always made way more sense. Plus, not only are there some in the game already, they could also steal some of the R6S variants.

I just think they introduced them so you could have a tank archetype, because jacking up Armor threw off their DZ WDvArmor matrix.

Feels odd to remove shields since many talents require them, gear sets require them, the entire concept of tank in this game rely on shields. I mean they could rework some stuff removing basic crusader shield OR make it Flamethrower only ( and i really mean just flamethrower not firewall spec). I am not a PVP specialist but that is definetly not a decision to be taken lightly and would require changing A LOT of the game and it's system

@xcel30 as noted above, with a big grain of salt on this rumor - it would require them tweaking armor and/or skills/talents to make a viable tank without one. Because right now, you can't make a tank without a shield [PfE comes close]

Besides getting into skills like Vanguard & Protector, or items like Forge or Foundry Bulwark. I guess they could easily pivot Shield to Mobile Cover..

Though Protector, on just a shieldless Tank would be neat .. Vanguard could be taking explosive or skill damage?

Now I want to work on a detailed rebalancing post that imagines a shieldless TD2..

I'd like the old days of no crits while your shield is deployed. A longer animation would be nice too, as you shouldn't be able to continously fire as your shield is destroyed.

Nope, it's just different. I love my maxed out EP/status build (which, BTW, has Test Subject as primary weapon, Scorpio as secondary). I also have a maxed turret/drone skill build that is a ton of fun, albeit slower.

I also have HF, Striker and all-red DPS builds that are different kind of fun, as well as a headshot-maxed Bulwark / pistol build using Liberty. Also fun.

Point being, some of us like to change up styles, sometimes shooting everything up, sometimes watching the whole crowd burn. None are boring, just different.

@sock_monkey I'm the same as you and have all sorts of builds, my all skill build has 3 pieces Hard Wired with Waveform, Wyvern, Murikami with over watch, tech support, and In Sync on 150 rnd M60, Capacitor/Scorpio as secondaries, it's sure is fun to sit back and blast away while my turret and drone are mowing them down and they are all concentrating on them.

@sock_monkey I have an EP build, plus a Drone Turret build.. in fact I don't have enough slots for all of my builds 😁

But they are more boring to use than my pew pew builds.
