I was a huge fan of Jade Cocoon 1 & 2 when I was a kid. They are monster catching and fusing games(akin to pokemon and Digimon), and I'd love to be able to play those games again! But they are not currently on modern platforms.

Jade Cocoon (The original) especially appears to have been lost to time. It's not had any re-releases whatsoever, and has always been locked to PS1... With copies of the original being extremely expensive. I think it's a huge shame, since these games were worked on by Katsuya Kondō; a designer for studio Ghibli. And the Jade Cocoon series are the only games he's ever done.

I would really appreciate it if these games were ported to modern consoles. I would buy them in a heart beat, and i'm sure a lot of people would be willing to pick them up due to Katsuya Kondō's visual style.
Honestly, when these games were released in the west, Ubisoft originally completely removed Katsuyta's art from the covers of both games to 'westernize' them. And I feel like that was a huge mistake(look at Ninokuni 1&2 and how much they sold with the Ghibli influences).

So think about it, please? I'd love to play these games again.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
