    I've had spurious crashes on the PC version of Division 2 on and off over the past couple of years, but (somewhat infuriatingly) I can get it to happen "reasonably consistently" near the Hunter that drops the Specter Mask.

    Got fed up and discovered the crash dumps in %appdata%/../Local/Temp, grabbed WinDbg, and got the exception trace. Ubisoft, why you gotta be writing to a null pointer?!?

    Unfortunately "TheDivision2+0x192ef4" isn't particularly useful to me. Maybe you guys can track this problem down with the real source/executable/debugger?

    If there is anything else I can do to provide additional information please let me know. Like I said, it happens pretty consistently around where the Hunter is that drops the Specter Mask. I've had it crash before I've triggered the Hunter, I've had it crash *after* I've triggered the hunter, and sometimes it doesn't crash at all throughout the entire Hunter encounter.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Hey there @f_stormhammer ,

    Thank you for reaching out to us with this, we appreciate it!

    Just to confirm, since encountering these crashes with this Hunter, have you since attempted any troubleshooting steps to try and resolve these crashes?

    And do you find the game crashes at any other point?

    If not - as a starting point, could you please give the steps in this guide a try, especially verifying the game's files and let us know if there's any change?

    Thank you!

    @ubi-theberry

    1) Yes, the system meets the game's requirements
    2) Yes, I keep Windows up-to-date.
    3) No, I will never run the game with administrator rights. (Note that the exception trace in the post above indicates a problem with the _game_, not with the access rights.)
    4) Yes, I did verify the game files.
    5) Yes, I ensure my graphics card drivers are up-to-date. WHQL drivers for the past few years of playing this game and it has hung/crashed like this sporadically for that entire time.
    6) I terminate all background applications prior to playing the game.

    There appears to be no way for me to attach DxDiag or MSInfo output to this post. Attempting to drag and drop the files yields the error "You do not have the privileges to perform this action" from the forums.
