So looking at the balance of the Phase 1 PTS for PvP it appears this is going to be another poor take on balance which we have seen along the course of Division 2

TU11 in my view was reasonably balanced to a certain degree as both AR, SMG and Shotguns were all viable options to use with no real meta . this is what we want build diversity in PvP )

So lets look at this new balance in detail , below is what we have been told from the patch notes

In-sync gets fixed so it doesn't proc off a shield

Intimidate not stacks up in damage and in no-longer amplified damage

Shields now take more damage and disorientates you when broken

I think most people are fine with the in-sync meta getting changed as everyone was running it and there are other options available to open it up be it Optimist or Strained , Sadist etc weapon dependant and will open up build diversity a bit

As for Intimidate I feel this will push people back to using Ridgeways pride , Unbreakable or Trauma/Wicked builds

Now onto the spicy topic which is the Shield nerf / disorientate which is the most controversial issue going around

I personally feel the way the TTK is right now is in a good spot and increasing damage to shields will only lower this , if you want a long TTK you need to offer the builds to support this and it is simple as that (yes you will get up to 60k armour from the proficiency system but until we get to that level no-one knows how this will pan out) , I feel the disorientate is not required and just adds to the lower TTK

To get back a longer TTK you need to bring back the tank builds , fix Strikers to how it was in Division 1 , True Patriot and Foundry to how they were originally in Div 2 as good examples

With the nerf of the shields , headshot builds will be harder to use as everyone will be using body shot build because of this

The one aspect off all this that the developers who are working on the PvP balance have failed to look at is the skill builds which are stupidly OP , be it mortar , traps and probably the worst is the burn builds when combined with Glass Cannon & Creeping Death as there is no way to counter even with a full hazpro build , if your going to balance weapons / shields you need to do the same for skill builds .....

As for the other issues that we now know is the chest swapping is going to be fixed , this is a good move in the right direction

Corner glitching with scopes need to be fixed and the simplest way is to either make it so they can't scope in or just remove them from PvP - Problem solved

As for the other issues which have plagued the game is the cheating issues and basically Massive prefers to harbour them rather than doing ban waves (look at COD they release their banning data to the public and this is how it should be in all games) , and the same goes for people using custom reticles to gain an in-game advantage (Fortnite is a good example where if you use one you will get kicked from the game before it starts)

At the end of the day all us PvP players want is a fun and enjoyable gameplay with good balanced build diversity

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC.
