Hi,
The Valhalla store page states the game requires 50 GB of disk space.
However when I try to install the game it gives me the error
Not enough disk space. Disc space required 95962 MB Disc space free 66453 MB
Now I understand the game probably got a few updates since release but why on earth does it now require literally twice the size, a whopping 100 GB of storage space ?!??!
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@uid0t
It's probably because of the armour and weapons they've added over the years (and maybe some extra missions or areas).
I have all DLC except DOR and my install size is 111gig.
If you've bought the ultimate edition or the season pass those will be included in the download (though there might be a way for you to only download the base game, though I doubt even that will be 50 gigs now )
For hardrive/SSD health it's recommended to always have about 10% free space (for defragging etc) so just a heads up that if you move stuff to another drive to leave a little extra free
I don't like how they don't update their specs pages when games get larger for the reason you've just mentioned, but if you have a small hardrive it might always be best to check game sizes before buying (by asking google, and going to recent forum comments). Even Steam is guilty of doing this (well, the games on there).
@simplethumb yeah I actually did check and I saw an update from Ubi from last december where they posted they cut the game size down from 77 gigs to about 43 I think? That was four, maybe five months ago and in that little timeframe it went from 43 to 96 gigs? =( I only have base game, no dlc, gold, ultimate or season pass
@uid0t
I remember them down-sizing the game but I can't remember how much they reduced it.
I'm not 100% sure but I don't think they 'force' you to download all the DLC as some multiplayer games do, in another thread I was commenting on the person said their install size was 130 gig while as mentioned mine is 111gb and I know tthat person has the DOR DLC so it seems that DLC is roughly 20gig
I'm not even sure they've added new areas (even though I said that in my original post) because, although I haven't finished the game I think there's 4 maps in the base game and they'd all need to be added before launch as it's all part of the main story...so I'd also like to know what has upped the size so much. lol
Because game sizes have increased so much and because of what you mentioned I bought myself external HDD's just to store games on when I've finished playing them, just so they're always there to play whenever I need them again and I can save space. (I don't have fiberoptic BB also )
@simplethumb Yeah it's just so strange, you mention 130 gigs and 111 gigs, so where did that downsizing go?! o_O
@simplethumb
@Uid0t
after digging in my old screenshots I found this,
It's for PS4 pro so "light weighted" because of no high resolution textures + I only installed 1 DLC ( WoD ) :
AC-Valhalla version = 5.00 (November 9th, 2021) = 107.1 Go
after a 62.946 Go downloaded Patch (the one that lowered the game size) I had :
AC-Valhalla version = 5.10 (December 15th, 2021) = 75.89 Go
then :
AC-Valhalla version = 5.12 (January 06th, 2022) = 75.89 Go (yes, no size change)
AC-Valhalla version = 6.00 (February 22th, 2022) = 83.78 ( I guess they added files to make the base game to be compliant for the DoR DLC even if I don't own it )
AC-Valhalla version = 6.01 (March 02th, 2022) = 82.68 Go
Advice ( perhaps you already know this ) :
keep in mind that for the update patches you need more space than the patch size ( patch is written on the drive, then applied, it's only erased after being fully applied )
Nice day to all
Hey,
Thanks for bringing this up and I apologise for any confusion caused from it. I don't see any mention of the game size on the Ubisoft store page. Can you provide a screenshot of what you see and the web address link please, in case it's just on a specific region store different to what I am connecting to.
@ubi-froggard
hello,
here are all the requirement sizes I found from Ubisoft related to AC- Valhalla :

AC Valhalla Standard Edit° PC Download spoiler

Note : in the Shop, only the Standard Edit° give the requirements, so for all other editions people can only rely on the previous link : https://www.ubisoft.com/en-gb/help/assassins-creed-valhalla/gameplay/article/system-requirements-for-assassins-creed-valhalla/000080274 which does not give a correct disk space size and also does not give disk space requirement depending on the versions of Valhalla
In the hope that the teams will make some size updates and size adds in these links
[Post-Edited] : French Ubi Store =
Exclusivly the Standard Edition, whatever platform you choose ( physical or downloads included), gives a link for Requirement showing this picture :
Hey,
Thanks for the links and images. I'll see if I can get someone to look into this and if it's possible to keep information more up to date or at least add a disclaimer on about patches and additional content sizes.
