    Upgrading expertise of only one item of a certain Bran Set, Gear Set or Weapon Type is too extensive.
    Since cost of upgrading is so high with every level even after the changes at least make it so that it will upgrade a type of item (eg. gloves) from given Brand Set, Gear Set and not just this one particular item you do upgrade on.
    I just did 20 runs of Countdown with weapons as targeted loot, deconstructed all of them for "steel" and was able to upgrade only 2 lvl of Expertise for one weapon with how much steel I got from it.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    @woodverine No it doesn't.

    Just play the game and don't rush it. Any gear you don't want, mark as junk to donate towards the Expertise.

    Farming the DZ and Open World adds up unwanted gear too. Play in invaded regions of the open world as Black Tusk drop steel components, same with the invaded DZ. Also, just do loot runs in the open world, searching bags and clearing Control Points.

    Extracting gear, collecting DZ caches, denying and clearing manhunts in the DZ all adds up gear fairly fast. Instead of hyper focusing on one gear set to level up, just play the game, clearing districts and collectively donate all unwanted gear and you'll start leveling up Expertise across the board.
    Focus on completing weekly and daily projects. There's other ways to accumulate gear other than farming target loot in Countdown, but they all involve grinding.

    To add, Expertise isn't something that designed to be maxed within a week and is fairly priced considering the bonuses a player can get.

    Don't see the point of trying to rush through the Expertise system. Those who do will then start complaining there's nothing else to do afterwards. Just take your time and enjoy the grind.

    Noooooo – don't do that! You can directly donate items and weapons to increase your Proficiency. Donating one weapon will give you half a Proficiency Level with this exact weapon.

    Deconstructing your loot for materials is the least efficient way to increase your Proficiency. Especially as getting materials from dismantling is a random drop and not guaranteed.

    IF you want to rank up Proficiency for skills or Specializations (or weapons/items you don't find regularly) you can farm skill or gear mods and deconstruct then for Printer Filament. As this is a guaranteed result for dismantling mods this is also a pretty good way for gaining ranks rather quickly.

    @noxious81 I was referring to upgrade of items that are already proficient, these upgrades be can only be done by donating 3 specific materials and can only be upgraded per specific item and not as a type of item from specific brand or gear set.

    Oh! You were talking about Grades, not Proficiency Ranks. Got you now. Ok, in this case I'd rather suggest using "ye olde" ways of farming materials: roam Solar Farm and the adjacent Control Points for steel and other "rare" materials or use Scavenging points from your SHD watch. Why? Because one point for one level up equals 50 units of steel. To be able to get same amount of steel from dismantling weapons you'd need about 150 or more weapons (as steel is never a guaranteed result from deconstructing). And farming one level up is much faster than trying to accumulate 150 weapons. (Plus: while focussing on leveling up you will also get loot on the fly which you can deconstruct for more materials.)
