  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

The Armor stats of your gear's attributes will not be affected by increasing the Grades of your gear. Grades only affect the Base Armor of your gear, so you can easily calculate how much more Base Armor you will have with Grade 1 or 2 etc.:

A backpack at level 40 for example always has 131k Base Armor. At Grade 1 you will get 1% more Base Armor, with Grade 2 2% and so an. At Grade 10 you'd get 10% more Base Armor, so 13,100 Base Armor (for a total of then 144,100 Base Armor).

All six gear items (mask, chest, backpack, holster, gloves, kneepads) together have an added up Base Armor of 660,000. So if you for example would upgrade each and every item to Grade 10, you'd get 10% more Base Amor (= 66,000) for your whole build. Again just for clarification: we're only talking about Base Armor. For Grades it doesn't matter whether the Core Attribute is Armor, Weapon Damage, or Skill Tier, as this is not taken into account.

But as Grades increase the Base Armor of your gear, all bonuses also increasing your Base Armor will affect the upgraded Base Armor.

The 10% Armor bonus from Keener's watch is a good example for this:
Keener's watch increases your Base Armor by 10% from 660k to 726k. With having upgraded every item of a build to Grade 10, the new Base Armor is already at 726,000 – so the additional 10% from Keener's watch are being calculated based on this new, higher value: 726,000 x 1.1 = 798,600

To clarify this, the Base Armor value is shown at the top left of each piece of gears detail view.
