  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

@GrandeSmokio99 Try to switch to DX11 renderer and lower your graphical settings, more importantly, try to set Texture Resolution to the Lowest and see if it helps. If it helps it would mean you probably don't have enough RAM for this game, so close all unnecessary programs while playing it, especially web browser.

Try disabling TXAA (use SMAA or FXAA)

I had t he same crashes and the only way to stop them was disabling TXAA.

Can confirm, under DX11 render I turned off TAA and all TAA related effects (reflections and AO) and had a week without crashes, which was the longest streak without crashes I've ever had in this game.
Just in case, I have Win 10, i5-3570K with 12 Gb of RAM, RX 6600 with 8Gb VRAM, 22.5.2 driver.

@KenTWOu Thank you for the details !

After investigation, it appears that the CPU (i5-3570K) is below the one listed in the minimum system requirements for the PC version of Watch Dogs: Legion (i5-4460).

This doesn't mean that you won't be able to enjoy the game, however this might contribute to the crashing Issue encountered, which can be mitigated by turning off the more intensive graphical options.

If you have questions, or for any other Issue, don't hesitate to reach out to us !

I did more tests on my PC. It's not TAA. It's just there are several TAA dependent settings: Ambient Occlusion, High/Very High reflections. So when you turn TAA off, the game automatically lowers them. So if you turn everything off yourself, lower settings like textures, geometry or environment, but leave just TAA on, the game will be smooth and stable even with TAA.
