    I'm getting incredibly bad audio quality on PC and can't seem to improve it. It sounds like the characters are talking through tin cans. I didn't have this issue in either Origins or Odyssey.

    What I've tried so far:

    Verify game files
    Updated audio drivers
    Tried with three different headsets (Bose QC25, Bose QC 35 II, random Skullcandy in-ear earphones)

    The sound quality is so bad that it's completely taking me out of the experience. It sounds like something you could expect out of a 90s RPG or $5 indie game.

    Does anyone else have this problem?

    My PC specs are:

    CPU: Ryzen 3700x
    GPU: Sapphire RX 5700xt Nitro+
    MoBo: MSI B450m Gaming Plus
    2 x 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws @ 3200mhz

    As said, no problems in other games.

    Feels bad, man.

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

    Same exact issue, extremely off-putting. I hope this is something hardware related.
    I'm using a Creative x-fi sound blaster with windows 10 if anyone else happens to be running something similar.

    @gumbooots thank God it's not just me.

    I have a full audio setup and was so pumped for the gritty viking "Oomph" like I got in god of War.

    Then I played, and it sounded like I was listening through a jukebox. Bewildered I checked every nook and cranny of my system. I'm almost positive it's due to their compression of the audio files, but I won't say it's certainly it. I pray there's a fix. Soon.

    Same here, like I said on another post the audio quality is abysmal. Everything sounds overly compressed and flat, no mids or lows, levels are all over the place. A bit concerned that there aren't more posts about this. I hope this gets resolved asap as its very distracting.

    @zoopels

    I am finding the audio often drops out for a split second... it's very annoying.

    @zoopels

    The more I play it, the more I notice the poor audio quality. It really does sound like a overly compressed audio stream. It is also staticy/scratchy sounding. It is very noticable.

    This needs WAY more attention.

    @xrayspex_73 I really hope they pay attention this time. Apparently Origins and Odyssey had similar problems and Ubisoft didn't bother to ever fix them. I was fine with both of those games, but I find the audio quality in Valhalla very difficult to bear.
