Well, I am a little bit disappointed, no support for 21:9 and 32:9 widescreen resolution for cutscenes?

  • Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

I wonder why this doesn't have more support. With the increase of ultrawide monitors, you would think that they could add this as a download step. Sure it would bloat the game otherwise in space, but rendering the cutscenes in a different aspect ratio seems easy, especially since they have alternative download options on this game already.

    Hey folks,

I do not believe we have in-game support for Ultra-Wide.

I have reached out to the team for more information.

So the community has provided a fix for black bars on ultrawide and you just broke it with patch 1.0.4.
I am fed up of hearing how the cutscenes are at 16:9 and we have to have black bars at 21:9 or higher.
If the community can provide a fix by replacing a hex value in the game exe why are you not implementing this fix?

OMG! How long it will take for devs to STOP ADDING black bloxes to cutscenes? This is actually MORE WORK to add them, why not just LEAVE everything native? Can't wrap my head around it, where is this "feature" comming from? What is a technical limitation on our state of the art, Real Time Ray Tracing graphics cards and Next Generation graphics ENGINES that require you to crop image ?

Can we PLEASE stop this nonsense already !?

Does anyone know any workaround to have normal 21:9 image available in game ?

    GAME LOOKS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL !!!

If anyone ends up here, I found this to be working. I played for few hours now without issues and cutscenes are finally looking amazing.

I've found this solution here on forum, so search sometimes do helps.

Also ... Ubisoft - I guess in terms of widescreen support, your games are somewhat DIY 🙂

    Cheers!

    Hello all,

I have merged a few different topics relating to ultrawide displays as it seems the common theme is compatibility with the game.

I am aware that most of the posts in this newly merged topic is older, however I wanted to let you all know (in case you were still interested) that the Assassin's Creed Valhalla team have confirmed to me that the game does in fact support widescreen / ultrawide configurations. You shouldn't see black bars around cutscenes or during gameplay to the best of my knowledge.

If you are experiencing any issues when viewing cutscenes, such as the aforementioned black bars around your display, please let us know and we'll do our best to help you out! It would be helpful if you could let me know the model numbers of the monitors you are using, as well as provide a screenshot of your display/graphics settings. Thanks. 🙂
